How can you go through that much PAIN without swearing?

I think he's being genuine. His eyes watering and his whole arm underneath going pink is proof of how bad the sting must be. I'd be seriously worried about a heart attack if it lasted 24/36 hours. Nutter!

What he needed there and then was Dalton on hand to put him out of his misery.

Duncan was lucky to have the Walther wielding Shakesperian as such close quarters.

I think everyone should be forced to stay inside until they go away, even if it takes years.

The government has just released this slogan: Keep clear of murder hornets. But what does that mean? If I put my arm in a hornets’ nest is that keeping clear? It’s a shambles.

Professor Ferguson and Imperial College have predicted 13 millions deaths by murder hornet in Sussex alone.

And every death by murder hornet is blood on Boris Johnson’s hands.

Steady. I got an 'infraction point' from the Dear Leader for making a Covid-related joke a week or so ago....(mind you, it was a very obscure joke, and could easily have been taken as flippancy  or even callousness :wrong:)

In all seriousness, if your kiddy was stung in the eyeball by one of those ****ers (like the rat in the first video), you might feel inclined to recant ???

I know we're being silly somewhat, but there are actually two separate types of hornet here:

- The invasive Asian hornet: https://www.bbka.org.uk/pages/faqs/category/asian-hornet-faqs
- The giant hornet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_giant_hornet

They are both bad news for bees, but the giant ones are also bad news for humans. Neither are native to Europe or America.

We already have "normal" hornets in this country that are quite big but tend to be less aggressive than wasps and are fine generally: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_hornet

This.

From past research... "Asian hornets" are smaller than native hornets. They've started to appear in the UK. The UK media erroneously calls them "giant Asian hornets" - grrrr!

Actual "giant hornets" from Asia have started to appear in US (but thrive in tropical conditions?), and the media calls them "murder hornets" - WTF?

How does one get an 'infraction point' ? How long does it stay on one's NSC card ?

What do they look like ? I think I might like one.

This one expires, like Covid-19 (allegedly) in June.

You could troll someone around various threads, posting low mockery and . . . .oh, hang on, one ludicrous old snide got away scott-free with that ???.

Hmmm . . . . actually I got another a few years ago for posting an inappropriate jpg. Bang to rights (although I was outraged at the time).

No, actually, no idea. Post enough and it becomes a statistical certainty. Keep posting and you'll eventually hit treble twenty by luck.

I've managed 13,000 posts without one. I must simply be a DULLARD.

The normal hornets we get here look scary, and I'm sure must really hurt when they sting, but they are nowhere near as aggressive as wasps. They don't buzz around your face constantly and try and fly in your mouth. If they did, I'd be too scared to go outside.

On the same subject, is there ANYTHING as scary as a wasp in the car when driving?

A few other halves might have an opinion on that question.
