Acid attacks. There is an increasing lot of it about. Statistically it makes sense to ban flasks. And to not explain why (or admit it is for security reasons). Exactly the same logic that resulted in a space traveller arriving in the UK in the mid 70s selecting, as an unobtrusive name to blend in: 'Ford Prefect'.

*Pedant alert* nicely inconspicuous

It's a tongue in cheek post, referring to HGTTG.

*Pedant alert*. The accepted abbreviation is H2G2.

Standards must be maintained.

Acid attacks.

"Aluminium metal dissolves readily in dilute sulphuric acid to form solutions containing the aquated Al(III) ion together with hydrogen gas, H2. The corresponding reactions with dilute hydrochloric acid also give the aquated Al(III) ion. Concentrated nitric acid passivates aluminium metal."

More of a danger to the Flasker than the Flaskee I would imagine

After 54 pages of reading about the most important issue in the club’s history I have a suggestion :

How about the club introduce a designated area for the flaskers? For a small fee tartan blankets and squishy cushions can be made available. Reading literature can be provided for pre-match and halftime periods comprising of Baking For Pleasure, Knitting For England, Your Top 101 Recipes For Your Flask. And, as an extra bonus, for those cold winter months - the club’s own monogrammed fluffy slippers individually signed by Paul Barber. Please contact the club for further information.

Flasking Section is a bit championship.

It has to be called FLASK Zone to liven up the South Stand a bit.

Blue and white blankets surely. Why would we want that Jock stuff at the Amex?

Can you take a roast dinner in?

If what you want to eat or drink is for sale in the bars on the concourse or 1901 bars you are banned from bringing it in is my simplistic interpretation. If it’s soup or something not on sale in the ground you still can’t bring it in. Not a money making exercise at all, and has the added attraction of lengthening the already long waiting experience even further.

Obviously just a security measure

Are you BensGrandad?

This simply isn't true. If you are in a non-corporate part of the ground, and you want to bring in sandwiches, or a pork pie, or a Cajun chicken wrap, or bar of Cadbury's fruit and nut, or a packet of polos, you remain absolutely free to do so - just as long as you don't wish to bring them in a flask, or similar.

Stop repeating this nonsense.

As I’m in a corporate part of the ground I should just suck it up should I? I confess I didn’t know the rules were different depending on where you sat as I only picked up on the alleged 1901 new rules.

No, I never said you should 'suck it up' - just felt that that people are getting confused about the scope of these new rules.

I'm also often in 1901 - I was in the MWB lounge on Sunday - and always bring a bar of chocolate in my jacket pocket to have with my half time coffee. Can't see the harm in that, and think it would be petty to stamp down on such, but any more than that, I'd side with them - to go into what is basically a restaurant / lounge and expect to be able to unwrap a picnic lunch is unrealistic, IMO.
