I know what people say about transfer market but I would just point out that they say he went from Leicester to Reading for €1.5m and is now valued, according to them, at €2.5m I wonder how far out they are with their valuation.

The Argus and Sky both reported that we'd offered £8m at beginning of the month which Reading turned down. We then , in transfer speak, "cooled our interest". (PS: this was in the articles i shared a few posts back)
http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/16325380.albion-increase-bid-for-reading-defender-liam-moore/

How accurate and reliable is that taking into account that all of our signings are undisclosed

BG: Hmmm, transfermarkt have Liam Moore valued at €2.5m, I'm going to believe that.

Local Brighton newspaper with direct access to the club: Albion have offered Reading £8m for Moore.

BG: Nah, don't believe there's any truth in that Argus news report.

  The BG algorithm is turned up close to max stupidity tonight!

You dont seem to understand why would the club indicate to anybody that we had offered £8m which was turned down by Reading and then we buy him and say the price is undisclosed as it is obviously has to be in excess of £8m to then be accepted.

I would as I dont think many know how much we are paying or offering only a few close people to TB are ITK. and they wouldnt speak.

Remember, other than the Albion's secretive quartet, a lot of other people would know the bid values - staff at Reading, agents, the player and possibly his family. Plenty of scope for a leak.

At the end of the day we will get Moore & I think baldock will go to reading as part of the deal.
Houghton wants a centre back then business is done for the summer & in my view we have done great in this window.

They may not tell anyone exactly what each transfer fee is, but Naylor gets enough information to make a very educated guess. Like when he said the following about the Alireza Jahanbakhsh deal

"The fee will eclipse the £14 million Albion paid Alkmaar's Dutch rivals PSV Eindhoven for striker Jurgen Locadia in January, although The Argus understands reports of a £20 million figure are wide of the mark."

Do you think he makes it up as he goes along? Besides which there are two sides to every transfer and I'm sure Naylor isn't just reliant on what comes out of the Brighton end of the deal for his stories.

Next season's average crowd at the concrete coffin!

Maybe they could sign the Always Ultras to boost the atmosphere, seeing as they no longer appear to be welcome at Castle Greyskull (see Wilfried Zaha thread).

Club also share some info about transfer fees - in stories like this

As well as club annual accounts obviously (although it’s not straightforward to work them out) and to a small # of journalists .
The Guardian have priced up our net transfer fee spend so far this summer as £45.3m

BG is pulling your old chap. And you are pulling his. Is this the image of Brighton we really wish to portray to our new 10,000 NSC brethren? I think not.:sheep::lolol::bigwave:

Other than your posts, I tend to believe the final fees stated by
The Argus
BBC
Times
Independent
Guardian
Telegraph
Sky (often)

And disregard the lazy and ALWAYS exaggerated nonsense everywhere else.

Moore has allegedly put In a transfer request - sky

Shades of Dale Stephens and the Albion when Burnley came in for him. I wonder if Reading will get the same outcome seeing as they are not that fancied to be able to offer Moore Premier League football next season???

Brilliant! I love your post. To be fair to BG his level of stupidity has been at max for the whole window. I’m still admiring his insistence that James Collins was the one we needed and this in the face of multiple bids for Moore and reported interest in JOC! He truly has provided literally hours of entertainment this summer! Thank you BG.
