I'd imagine it's highly unlikely a business with a turnover of 150m have reliance on a single individual to complete transactions.
Agreed - there is no chance the albion shuts down transfer business while Barber swans off on holiday.

Or Chris will pop to his villa to discuss a new development.

I'm chilled with this.

We'll sign 'the numbers we need' (copyright, Chris Hughton) before the deadline. And I won't have heard of any of the players, so why worry about it or attempt to search them out?

Nice profit if it happens. We can add it to the £400k+ made so far from FIFA for albion player participation at the World Cup, and boost the budget slightly for new players.

Blimey, maybe that's why palace's accounts were late, they were waiting for the FIFA cheque to appear.

I think 'Where's Winstano' has a tough time on holiday.
He spends the first 2 weeks sure there was something he should have done before leaving.
The next 2 weeks relaxing.
Then the nagging doubts creep back in.
Only when he returns to his desk does he remember he should have singed 6 players by now.

Still at least he'll have till the end of August, as usual

I know that.
You know that.
But someone really ought to tell the fella attempting to look round corners.

Was hoping he'd be reading this from his sunbed/canalboat or whatever. May need to be more direct:)
No I think he likes to go on a 'communing with nature', retreat.
The kind of place where you leave all modern technology in a box at the gate, then roll about in mud for a couple of weeks.

Each to their own.

I've also noticed Hughton's way of objectifying players. Another favourite is when asked about a particular player, he will say "that is one we are looking at bringing in". Followed by the usual caveats about how difficult it is signing players. I love that man.

So if we go with the idea that the albion want 4 more signings, then this could be :

- Moore / O'Connell etc.

- Bernardo

- Tau

- Jahanbakhsh or another winger

Presumably Krul falls outside of this 4, as he'd hardly be a new signing as such, but if he doesn't sign we'll need 1 more than 4.

We seem very keen to get a HGP central defender. Along with a HGP 2nd keeper this probably allows Baldock to move on, leaving Hemed to stay in the 25.
