Simple 1 +1 = 2 both Origi and Ings cannot figure in Liverpools plans this side of Christmas with the number of strikers that they have so unless they sell one like Sturridge this week one or the other would be surplus to requirements and either would suit us.

3 days to achieve what we couldn't in 4 months. A failure of epic proportions. Let's hope it's not another Akpom, Obita or other 3rd rate signing in our rush to achieve something.

Take your point but what we can offer, which other clubs might not be able to offer,is the prospect of regular first team football. Might just turn to our advantage with him or someone else on the fringes before Friday. Well here's hoping anyway.

Yes, he does seem to be changing his tune, but as I said about his previous hard 'not going anywhere' stance, that doesn't mean much in football these days. I'd be very happy if we can borrow Origi.

So a failure of epic proportions? What could they have done to avoid this? Who have they gone for, who was available? Could we afford them? Did they want to come to BHA?
You must know the answer to most of those questions to deem yourself justified in your damning criticism.

You are kidding me, He's competing with one of the best strikers in the world (Kane) in a team that were runners up in the Premiership last season, is quick and knows were the back of the net is. Perfect for us and would get 15 - 20 goals......... whats not to like?
It's not a failure yet. Last year there were over 40 deals involving PL clubs on deadline day. Lots of business gets done in the final days of the window. It's frustrating but not extraordinary.

Three days with a chance to pick up someone who hasn't been available for the last 4 months. Somebody who loses his squad place/first team chances because one of the big teams brings in a £50M+ new striker, perhaps.
As for a failure of epic proportions, try the Dardanelles, or the Titanic - examples of real failures of epic proportions.

You'd be surprised. Portslade seagull has got a very nice 1st touch, as well as possessing decent enough pace, a good eye for goal and can also take a mean free-kick.
We could do worse.
Failure or not it has probably already cosy us a couple of points on Saturday with only 1 striker available. Let's hope it is addressed with something not akin to a painter/akpom type panic before Friday.

I would imagine none of us would be happy with things as they are, however, in life there are always situations beyond our control. For instance, the chances of both the Brazilian (cannot recall his name, and Dwamena both failing medicals must be small but they did and that put our recruitment back). We aren't Man U or Chelsea and cannot afford to simply splash the cash at will. My expectations are probably lower than yours and others who seem to me to hope for too much and blame the club too much when things aren't as good as you feel they should be. This is one of the high points in my supporting the club, in almost 45 years, I've watched them in every division and almost seen us slip away. These are the good times, try to enjoy them for what they are, we may go down we may not, but if we do, we will be better placed to try for a quick return.

Can often look like he doesn't have control of his legs - a bit like Bambi on ice, but occasionally does something really nice. Can finish. Probably not quite up to Liverpools' standard at the mo, but would be good for us. Doubt it could happen though.

Yes please - would be very happy with this. I suspect Spurs would need to get someone else in before considering letting him go, but they must be considering cutting their losses

That is clearly not what he is saying, is it. There is a difference, people seem to moan as though they know and understand the recruitment process when as a matter of fact, they know sweet FA.
The club has clearly been looking, that is evidenced by the fact we failed Dwanmena his medical.
I'm almost convinced people like yourself would rather us have signed him, irrespective of their medical condition, just to satisfy your need to make signings.
No one has flat out said we have a good enough squad, the difference is patience and understanding that recruitment is difficult.

There are plenty of players tied up in "purchase chains" who won't be released until a team land the player they want. Hemed could be a good example of this.
Lots of our best options still tied in with other deals - so we're not stuck with the dregs or necessarily going to be paying over the odds. We're having to be patient.
(I know a lot of NSC simply don't get this - and will continue to bleat on and on about how we left it too late. I have no expectations of them hearing the point above or of it changing their minds).
