It's no wonder this place loses it's shite the second a game is lost.

So many people predicting 3 teams going undefeated over a total of 28 games.
As crazy as that is, they're making those predictions on the back of 'Field scraping a 1-0 win and 'Castle losing at home.

Anyone thinking this will turn out to be a three way 100 point tussle for promotion is a bit of a wally.

Have to agree. No way 3 teams are going to be that high. 93 I think will do it. When the pressure cracks on over the final 5/6 games I think the results maybe even more unpredictable. I expect 1 team to hold their nerve better than the others 2 but no idea who that team will be yet

Could well be true. Wagner is trying to play it down and pretend that his side should have been aiming for top 10 only. It would be nice to pile a little more pressure on them.

My best guess:
I guess Huddersfield will win 8 and draw 2 of their remaining games = 97 points
I guess Newcastle will win 7 and draw 2 of their remaining games = 100 points

Therefore we need 97 points to gain automatic promotion.
12 points available at home, but we will frustratingly draw one of those games = 10 points from our home games.
Therefore 10 points are needed from games at Leeds, QPR, Wolves, Norwich and Villa.

It's going all the way to the last game of the season.
Strap yourselves in.

Still with this?

89 pts might be enough for second place now.

Please, no chicken-counting. Kuszczak will be out to play another blinder on Tuesday and if he does, we could be back to where we were before the weekend by Wednesday night.

to put all this points nonsense into perspective on 70mins i was actually worrying that if we only draw and hudds do there often repeated goal in the last 10 mins then we would have been on 78pts and them on 74, just 4pts behind with a game in hand.....it can swing so easily and like someone else said it could be back as you were by wednesday...That said, being as pessimistic as possible i have us getting 11 more points from the last 7 game (91) and huds getting 18 from 24 giving them 89..so we will be celebrating promotion against Bristol City on the penultemate game :) SKY MUST HAVE CHOSEN THAT MATCH FOR A REASON :) :)

Birmingham 3 points
QPR 1 (bogey ground for us & they will raise their game)
Wolves 1 (ditto)
Wigan 3
Norwich 1 (PL squad. Can't remember us winning there)
Bristol 3
Villa 0 (their £100m team is now playing well, with home advantage)

= 92 points.

The chasing pack will all lose and draw games too.

We're on our way.

I can't see us losing to Villa unless we have nothing to play for. That would mean we can't get auto, promoted but can't win Championship or already champions. I would think that at least one of these would still be in play - more likely the second. If so, I can see us beating a Villa side that will already be on the beach.

Bruce will be determined that they finish on a good note, for a feelgood factor, to help get it right next season. Plus their first team, especially midfield and attack is classy at this level. Cost £50m!

I think and hope that we'll be promoted by then.
