Booing Akpom

How dare you criticise the North Stand Mafia. They, and only they, set the agenda. Standing - Tick. Snidey chants at the East Standers who put their phone lights on - Tick. Boo your own players - Tick. Yep, all present and correct.

Makes the matchday experience at the Amex sound so miserable.

If quite a few supporters want to show their displeasure at the seemingly lazy, inept performance (again) by a loanee, they're entitled to air that with booing.

I didn't boo him, but I have to say I won't criticise anyone who did - first time I've said that to be honest. Here we are, 8 games from promotion to the Premier League and all the riches it brings. We have a chairman who has ploughed £1/4bn into the club for this moment. We have a squad players who have worked tirelessly after coming so close last season. I LOVE this club, I love the togtherness & the desire towards one goal.

And then Akpom comes in, can't be bothered to chase anything, & jogs around for an hour. I'm sorry chump, this is too important for any Billy Big Bollox to f*ck around. If you don't want to be part of it, get out of my club

Tough to agree with, but we all know one man who can.

He's not ours, shocking performance.

I am quite happy to say I was one who booed the waster . Only Obika has ever got me that pissed off before.

Leon Best ?

Really disappointing showing by him today. Final straw for me was in the first half, we broke in our half with Knockeart on the ball looking for options. Akpom is just jogging up the pitch. Baldock would have been sprinting for a ball over the top. That epitomised Akpom's really lacklustre performance today.

Poor show anyone who booed him off though.

He's only 9 months younger than Solly March, but years younger in terms of desire and footballing nous.

He ran backwards and forwards like a puppy chasing a ball for the first 15 mins, then seemed to lose interest. He didn't compete. He didn't make any runs. Even when there was a break on, he was jogging along like his presence in the box didn't actually matter.

It was like 'Take your son to work day'. All the gear but no idea. I didn't boo him. But I felt like it.

Possibly because the Albion give first team game time to prospects, whereas the London PL clubs acquire hundreds of players they never end up playing in meaningful games. Well done to our club for doing this.

I saw Obika score for the Albion!

Yep, me too.

I don't like to hear any player in the blue & white stripes getting booed. Don't clap him, if you want to show displeasure. It's up to Hughton to deal with his lack of effort.
Seeing as how Murray was injured, and strapped up at the end of the game, we may have to rely on Akpom to play sometime in the next couple of games, so the booing might well have a detrimental effect. If it is lack of confidence, then the fans haven't helped.

Looked like he was watching the planes above circling into Gatwick, his mind was not on the game, no awareness what so ever, knocky had a few words right in the second minute, didn't boo but didn't clap either

I didn't boo him, but I'm not condemning you for doing so, and well done on coming clean.
But you're being unfair on Obika, who just really wasn't much cop. Akpom today didn't put the effort in and that's unforgivable. The one player that is currently lower than him in my book is Leon the Worst.

I did not boo but he was terrible and on that performance should be returned from where he came- no need for loan players now.

Sorry, I meant weak if we go up as I don't think Hemed is up to the Premier League (I know I will probably get flamed for saying that). That leaves us with one ageing striker who is good for another season but maybe not every game at that level plus Baldock who is very unproven at that level and this is the best season he has had at Championship level.

Don't get me wrong we have an amazing team but when we go up I think we need another two top quality strikers if we want to stay up.

Even though I don't agree re Tomer, you're quite right about the situation going forward.

I bet the club are amazed they've got all but a full season from GM.
(I doubt amazed is the word Tomer would use)
Baldock is pivotal to the whole attacking unit, and just can't be relied upon.
Every winger has tried and failed to cover SB.

So the club will need to upgrade Baldock, and if there still isn't a 'big lad' benchwarmer in with the kidz, they'll need one of them too.

Disgrace. Probably the middle aged fatties. The ones who booed near me were the ones constantly on the back of our players in the match

So many ****ing morons booing a young lad off the pitch. West stand upper block H is great for morons but today a well known moron boos him off, making a wanker sign and we all turn around and look at him he says 'what do you think he played well then?'.
All of us in that area know he's a moron but today is a different level. We all know him right? Dark sun glasses today, in his fifties. Called him out last season and bottled running behind th.e stewards after the game. I'm with my kids every week so can only challenge him when my wife takes them away but this guy is a ****ung idiot.

Take your head out your arse. Most of the booing was definitely NOT coming from the North.

Interesting that anything deemed wrong must have come from the NS, besides did anybody put their phone lights on today can't recall any chants. Sounded like most of the boos came form the WS to be honest.

I agree with the poster about Hemed. He's done a good job for us, proving the haters wrong. But Baldock will be our only striker next season with pace and at a decent age. Murray should be given a chance, but will be a year older against PL class CB's.

I think the club will buy two strikers if we go up. Defoe and Hull's Abel Hernandez, for example, would give us 4 sound front options with Murray and Baldock.
