All utterly irrelevant to the point I called you on. This girl's father was a known Al Queda mouthpiece. Her family may be full of bad guys. She was there because her bad guy family were there. She was EIGHT YEARS OLD. She doesn't get to choose her family or her whereabouts.

'Oh, how sad'. What a nasty, vindictive individual, you are.

Try looking up deaths due to al-Quaeda attacks.Even by UN estimates it's over 6,000 men women and children.Where is your sympathy for them?Perhaps you just want to let them slaughter who they like? You and your ilk only ever see one side as being right. If you don't want any action taken that will perhaps cause casualties, then are you happy to see these madmen blow up British nurseries and schools? If operations like the one in Yemen don't take place, that is what will happen-will you be happy then?No-you will be hand-wringing about how useless the security services are. It's a war.War has casualties. How many children have been killed in Syria?Obama moved half his Air Force to the Middle East and then did nothing.Get a sense of proportion, you apologist.

"Some of the women were firing at the US force, Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis told reporters."

I didn't know the USA were still using Harrier jump jets.

Was that a bad thing? Considering who has the keys now?

I wouldn't say so. With that I'm in agreement with you. However my post highlighted the danger of labeling Americans as thick because they voted a candidate in that the poster doesn't approve of. Presumably, the Americans weren't thick in the previous two elections and this state of being thick suddenly descended?

I found this article from about 18 months ago. So could be. "We’re taking advantage of all the money the Brits have spent on them. It’s like we’re buying a car with maybe 15,000 miles on it. These are very good platforms. And we’ve already got trained pilots."

Well, that was one hell of a one-sided deal. Damn disgrace - and we buy replacements costing more (from the US?). Strewth! No wonder we've got a national debt the size of Australia!

I'd brace yourself for a lot more one-sided deals in the future

There's a video circling atm of a reporter asking Trump some challenging questions, Trump sets security on him, has him thrown out, in the corridor they tell him to get out of their country.

the story was a bit more complex. you'll note in the the article they are cannibalising them to keep the US Marine fleet alive, who'd have scrapped their fleet without the donors. the Harrier had become very expensive to maintain (£1bn saving from the sale mentioned) and it was either them or the Tornado fleet went. Tornado can do long range bombing, which the Harrier cant, while its principle role as close ground support is covered by Apache's, so they went. case of the utility player being underappreciated.

Yeh, I know these things are never exactly simple. Just remember at one time feeling pretty proud of our Harriers, which were way ahead of anything else at the time. Still feels wrong somehow that we were ditching them on the cheap, but the Yanks are still happily shooting up ISIS with them!

Trump will go down in history as the biggest recruitment to terrorist groups in all time.

Just thought you might answer a few of my points, why would your prioritise an elected democratic president to actually protest against, when you forgot to do it when Obama was in power and when other countries have adopted a far more punitve migration policy without so much as a peep from any of you.

You can speak out against anything you want, but my god if you want to feel principled and righteous then perhaps show some level of consistency in your personal outraged-ometer.

You make one hell of a lot of assumptions about people and what they protest against from your holier than thou position.

Putting what I feel about other issues and countries aside for a minute (if it's ok with you that I don't consider every single issue on the planet today) the Trump administration makes me genuinely fearful for the stability of the world. I have no confidence in Trump's ability to be diplomatic in any shape or form, and Bannon's ideology and power worries me. A lot. So, all power to the protesters as far as I am concerned, but more importantly I hope sensible conservatives in the States step up as well. Hopefully I am wrong.
