Not sure how I feel about this. Good player who improved when he was with us. Certainly would add another creative option off the bench but not sure I would be starting with him too much. He is for me very much the perfect player off the front man and that is a change from the structure we are clearly doing so well with, albeit a subtle one.

Very similar to Pritchard in style so it has merit. Was kind of hoping for a no10 that would run beyond Murray/Hemed, but i guess its all about having different options.

Completely different, hadn't seen him play for a season.

Not really, some are saying he's not what we need which is what they said about Duffy. You are completely entitled to not rate Tex but he is exactly the type of player we need imo, hence the club being willing to break the bank to bring Pritchard here. Do you think CH has changed his mind on what he wants? He can cover for Baldock and be a playmaker from the wings as well as being able to run at players like Knocky. It's "sign him up" from me!

It is only a loan after all so not a big gamble.

I agree

Good player as Texiera is he doesn't do the defensive work that would probably be expected of him. There used to be a player played for Spurs and joined CH Reserve team to begin with when he first signed. I seen some of his early games and thought. WOW - Absolutely brilliant player to watch and was surprised he never really made it at Spurs.

It was pointed out to me the reason why he never really made it at Spurs in words similar to '' Great footballer but You need one ball on the pitch to play the game and another for Jose because he never passes it'' Jose Dominguez was his name. Anyone remember him ?

Remember Jose when he was at Blues. When Tex came on at St. Andrews I thought of Jose straight away-same type of tricky little Portugeezer, drawing fouls everywhere!

Perhaps, but how many could say they'd seen Duffy play more than 4 or 5 times live?

I didnt want Duffy, but that was on the basis that we have Goldson and Uwe. Duffy is great and has made a difference, but whether he's much better than Goldson remains debatable for me - they're different style CBs, but both excellent in their own way.

Hughton inherited Tex, not sure whether he rates him. I think that we need that style of player, just a better version. ?Judge when fit.

You have just basically given the reason why we are where we are in the league strength in depth, something we did not have last season that ultimately cost us promotion and why a loan signing like Tex can only add to the depth and offer something slightly different.

But is he better than what we've got?
The answer for me is 'no'. March would be just as effective in that position.

One can only assume that someone else or two maybe are on their way out be it on loan like Towell, Kaz, maybe someone else we are not expecting. Maybe March is not showing his previous form of last year in training and we never know when we need that someone to step forward. This is a massive season and if we do not go up there maybe wholesale changes throughout the club and I even fully expect a top flight team to come in for Chris, Stephens will go and maybe others....

We will never get a better chance than this considering the position we are in currently and if he is a luxury but comes on occasionally and gives us something else he will be well worth the risk.

Just my opinion.

Of course. So many variables and considerations.

Logically, it must look like KLL is on his way on the basis of the last transfer window and apparent attitude (see sending off).

Elvis sounds like he's on his way. Perhaps freeing wages up or cost cutting.

Stephens I just don't know, he is pivotal, but if we were offered £10m would we take it?

Towel/Ince must be getting frustrated as they seem reasonable players, but would loaning them out weaken us too much depth wise?

So many questions and no answers, but as you say I do think we need to make it this year.

From inside Futbol they are stating Glasgow Rangers are missing out on the loan and he will be joining us although we will NOT have an option to buy at the end.

Everything is being based on the original story from ZeroZero, unless we know how trustworthy they are we have no idea if this story has any legs at all.

ZeroZero saying it's done, Naylor saying its rubbish... no idea who to believe....

Rangers fan site say the same that he is coming.

Like you say though who knows, only those involved and if Naylor say's it's rubbish then it must be I guess.

I asked a Porto fan about zerozero, they said it's reliable, but i guess you can never tell with rumours like this.

I'm really not sure if he's the answer here. Thought he was excellent when he was here a very good ball player and the focal point of the team. My concern here would be that in this side he won't be the main man and that once he isn't the playmaker then what he offers is diminished. He's not a great goalscorer, offers no real pace or inclination to run in behind either. He can link play beautifully but for me at least that's not what we need currently unless CH is thinking more of a switch to 4-5-1 which would surprise me given the success we've had to this point...

Didn't Naylor dismiss the Zamora rumour? He is not part of the club and he is NOT all knowing, they would only tell him when they are ready. This will be when it is common knowledge, what was his last exclusive revelation about a player?

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't pretty well all spot on rumours appear here before Naylor is allowed to breathe a word?
