It is strange that I am accused of trolling by El Pres, yet after asking some time ago the lad in question has not come back to me. Can I assume that El Pres was trying to whip up a frenzy of discord against me for his own gains? Surely not? He is a mod, they uphold forum standards. I can only assume he mixed me up with someone else. I do, however, very humbly, accept that he is the knowledge of all. His followers told me so. I am in ore of this mighty beast. Please link me to my previous trolling escapades El Pres sir.

Not sure why Sussex Nomad is exclusively getting pelters here, it started reasonably enough, yet got a upperty when Thunderbolt and to a certain degree El Pres, got the hump with him, as for Lord Bracknells intervention, well that was just awkward.

But there you have it, much a do about nothing, but not entirely Sussex Nomads fault if you care to look.

Where have I got the hump?

As I said BG, if the thread was taken for what it was, cheat didn't sit well, it's ok for the clique to call everyone else a cheat but we aren't allowed to use it in the same breath when talking Brighton. I hope I remember this thread and if we don't go up, which I obviously dream we will, I was there in 78/79, I shall ask the same question of our next losses.

You started at the very beginning of this thread with 'For heavens sake' start to a post, think it was the first post in this whole thread that showed some frustration at another poster, followed by El Pres giving it a 'Total nonesense' (or something similar) in response to Sussex Nomad.

No big deal but it kinda went downhill from there.

Nope. I don't use the phrase 'for heavens sake'.

It was all going so well until the last post of page 4... all cordial and a normal type conversation amongst Brighton fans... took a mod to break up the party.

Is there any evidence that Brighton have cheated?

Did you read my first post or are you trolling me? (seems to be the fashionable word on this thread).

I read your first post, which was fine.

You then gave a view that FFP was being breached, which again, was possible reasonable, though indicative that you don't know much about FFP.

So, on top of our past deficits, we now have a brand spanking new 20 million one, are we keeping within FFP? I don't think so.

A number of posters put you right in relation to FFP, but having started to dig the hole, you felt duty bound to dig further, admitting your ignorance but still giving the view that the club was in breach of the rules.

When did the three years start and I believe we lost £10 mill the season before which would equal £30 mill in two years. And I believe we lost £10 mill the years before. I don't know when FFP starts or finishes, but the fact we are gambling hugely surely means we are breaking FFP?

A few again tried to put you right on the matter, and so you chose to ignore them with

So basically, what I say, we are cheating the FFP. We can't really sit here on our high horses any more and say we did it fairly, assuming we do.

My response to 'What I say, we are cheating the FFP' was to state that you are talking complete nonsense, and evidence that with the rules, to which your response was to call me an idiot, and it descended from there.

People on here bang on and on about Leicester, Bournemouth, et al regarding their promotion to the Prem, overspending on FFP. Are we any better?

They broke the rules, so I will continue to call them cheats along with the rest of the football world.

We have not broken the rules, and we won't. 39M is the accepted figure over 3 seasons, so factor in that around half of our 20M loss figure are actual "FFP losses" and you can start to see that we are almost certainly on track to fall in line with the rules once again.

Moreover, let's say that TB was to, for want of a better term, 'all in' come January and add another 10M to those losses with a striker purchase. We would then be forecasted to break FFP after the 3 year period, but only assuming we would have the same expenditure over the next 2 years which is highly unlikely given that those losses could be comfortably offset with either a) TV money should we get promoted or b) Player sales should we not.

In the current football climate where, as TB has previously mentioned, revenues in our 1st tier are the best in the world and losses in our 2nd tier are the worst, we are simply doing what it required to be able to compete with residual parachute money offered to those that have already broken that divide. The only measure of legitimacy we currently have is falling in line with the rules offered both on and off the pitch. So yes, we are better.
