The fans watch AK play against them in a competitive match

The Geordies then talk about whether he was worth bidding for and how much they think should be the maximum bid for the player if they think he should still be a target

Albion fan overhears them discussing this between themselves and jumps to the conclusion that the fans are in the know and that Newcastle are about to bid £15m

The Geordie fans would have as much knowledge of a potential deal as our fans would have had when discussing Charlton's Lookman last season after his good performance against us. So if our fans conversations had been overheard by a Charlton fan, would they have jumped to the conclusion that we were bidding for him for arn't they that naive

Even if, and it' a very big if, Newcastle were to bid £15m on Tuesday, why would they make it public knowledge beforehand? meaning that a potential deal could be beaten by another club who may also be keeping tabs on AK (Norwich hijacking our Pritchard move or Southampton Hijacking our attempts to get Sammy Lee as Assistant Manager to Hyppia when they found out they were about to move) Making it public would only alert competitors and may push the price up, which is why we try to keep everything quiet until the deal is done

I agree with you; he posts a lot of rubbish, but it's amusing and stimulates chat, and none of it is intentionally trolly, unlike a couple of other posters that are just tedious.

I said something similar about the bullying a fee months ago after BG had the audacity to say that, as 70 something year old traditionalist, he always considered football as a man's game. He was set upon and called a bigot etc. by NSC's resident White Knights and Social Justice Warriors for having a 'wrong' opinion.

I suspect we are far more parsimonious than some other clubs when it comes to transfer fees, players salaries and agent's fees. This will always set us at a disadvantage when some of our competitor clubs (e.g. Newcastle, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday to name but 3) seem to be prepared to spunk whatever it takes to get top the premiershit.

Derby, Forest, Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn (a few seasons back), etc..... i could go on all spent big in trying to land a player or improve their squad

How did that work out for them all, did any of them make it into the PL as a result of that spending?

(plus add in that most clubs in this division are also trying to get promotion and run at a loss to try to achieve this and they fail too)
