Is Zaha a possibility ?

He needs to be a lot better than Zaha as he is reported to be on 70k per week which is double the wage of Zaha.
With Cabaye reported to be on 100k per week I can understand Zaha feeling a little cheated with his being made to keep his current contract at 35k a week. Surely such vast differences must cause a rift when things get tough and players like Zaha and Bolasie (who I believe is on similar contract to Zaha) playing out of thier skins and Cabaye and Townsend going through bad patches.

You get that at all clubs, but in the PL its higher numbers.
Who's to say next season some of your players get the hump with Muzza swanning around picking up his £35 k a week ?

High wages practically rule out every Premier League squad player.

Even Buckley and Bridcutt are on £16K a week basic. No bonuses for them.

The same applies to most of Championship sides (except the three relegated teams). Except for youngsters that are not going to make the grade (best hope*), injury hit players from the like of Swansea, or ageing (=experienced) journeymen from the likes of Stoke. (*There are examples of players that Premier League let go and finally come good.)

The Recruitment squad have done exceptionally well to sign the likes of Hemed and Knockaert. In the former promotion bonus did not seem a possibility.

Players in the run of the mill Spanish top flight fringe players and even in Italy might be on less that £20K a week. Zaha is NOT a possibilty.

You really do seen to know a lot about our club, think you are a fan really. Seriously how you reckon that he is on 35k? I can assure we do not pay that kind of wages.

We neither want him or need him.

Not that it's at all relevant as he'd cost £20m+ which you simply don't have. The guy is class. People rave about Bolasie but Wilf is the better player. Zaha had the most successful dribbles of any player in the PL last season; second only to Neymar in all of Europe. He lacks a bit of end product but that's par for the course with wingers; he's only 23 after all.

He'd be the best player in the Championship by a country f*cking mile. Again, not that it's relevant. Any rumours of him wanting to leave are just agent talk because he wants a wage increase from £35k/w to something closer to Cabaye's £100k/w.

The thread was started by a Palace fan.

Zaha is NOT a possibilty.

I don't think anyone thinks he is.

Original poster seemed to think so. Until we get the Premier League TV money we can't pay the wages. Our wage bill is something like £20m pa and Palace spend £60m +. Promotion bonuses might get ours up to £30m, and the top PL stars may cream off £15 m leaving less for the bog standard £10m transfer fee PL players, but there is still a gap in wages that can be paid.

PL rejected youngsters, PL £2 million castaway prima-donnas, lower division players, ageing journeymen or foreigners only! Or home grown academy players, current players given a new lease of life by practice and coaching. Or players that have lost their way (maybe Championship players off form or lost game time through injury?). Or players that have rowed with their Manager and have a new girlfriend from Brighton?

If fans think the cheque book (remember them?) is the answer they should go and support Chelsea. Or Newcastle.

PS: looking out the window. Second summer on the trot has been naff. Football seems odd without a summer in between.

Well if you are talking about players that are better than him, and talking about the small point of strikers and wingers who score and create, I will start with these players who's statistics were better:

Wilson
Hemed
Zamora
Murphy
Stephens
Baldock
lua lua
Knockhart

And even Dunk as a defender scored more league goals last year. So think most other champs club have a few players as well.He would win the stats on getting free kicks though , I will give you that. I know you will
Say that stats are not everything, and I agree, but they play a major part in football now and clubs look at these when valuing and buying players.

He is a very talented player, but wastes his undoubted skills by over doing things and diving and if he could eradicate this he would be an international player, what a waste. Have a look at your message board seems like a lot of your fans agree with me. Just saying....

Well he wouldn't be allowed to play for us anyway, a little while back some Palace plum on here was waffling on how WILF was respected by the ULTRAS as most of them GREW UP WITH HIM. Continuing to talk bollocks as if Croydon council estates were on par with downtown NAPLES and the hoodies in that corner were some kind of CURVA B type NAPOLI ultras....pricks

So you honestly feel Zaha's valuation has now more than DOUBLED since he limped back from Old Trafford with his tail between his legs ? Do behave. Yes todays market is batshit MENTAL nowadays, but not quite to that extent. And then you casually throw in the fact that he has no end product, as if that doesn't really matter...for a "£20m+" winger ?? :lolol: Brilliant. So he can drop a shoulder and throw a few stepovers, big deal. Its the equivalent of doing a hundred keepy-uppys. Might look flash, but its ultimately pointless and contributes nothing.

He wouldn't be the best player in the Championship, he wouldn't even be the best player at the Albion (Knockaert is twice the player, because he has goals in him, and that crucial dimension to his game - end product). This weird delusion that some of you lot still carry about Zaha being some kind of footballing demigod is highly amusing to the rest of us.

No, he didn't. He was second. I'm sure i've already put you right on this once before, unless it's a Palace thing to ignore facts?

I see it is now being reported that Bolasie, Puncheon and Gayle were/are unhappy about the pay differentials. Good start to the season.

You guys obviously don't like Zaha, fair enough... must have been those two goals in the play off semi.

But for a fair few of you to say he wouldn't improve your team is just plain laughable, you are letting your bitterness of things Palace cloud your footballing judgement.

Anyway, No answer the OP - No chance and why would he want to move to the championship anyway?
