It would appear that the job cut decision was indeed taken pre-Brexit.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-36911896

The bank confirmed that the decision to make further cuts was taken before the EU referendum on 23 June.

Interestingly, not all media reports have picked up on this rather important clarification.

Best target the Brexit towns first for closures, the pensioners can learn to use online and phone banking

So long as it's not run by experts, it won't be a total disaster.

That was the trouble-it was run by so-called 'experts',or even self-called 'experts',who tried their absolute hardest to f**k it up,but couldn't even manage that!Along with their other experts who presided over the financial meltdowns since 2008,like that total muppet Lagarde-highly regarded by people who can't see beyond the FT.
At least the Treasury has finally found an employee who knows what they're doing-:

The hilarious exchanges between myself and Lincoln Imp referenced the leave strategy 'at the moment' which is emphasising the positive .. for many good reasons.

I'm a bit like the guy who just voted for this country to have the same status as the vast majority of countries around the world, an independent nation state. The fact you consider this to be in anyway comparable to suicide speaks volumes for your mindset.

Perhaps you would like to pre book a slot at the PBMD clinic? (coming soon to a location near you)

The current leave strategy seems to me to be, lets not do it yet, I suppose you could call that positive. If you mean the guff coming from Davis about how quickly he thinks he can set us up with good trade deals with important players, it's more of the same bull from before the vote.

You voted to be an independent Nation State, well done. What will you do with your freedom when it comes?

And I guess Brexitt wasn't any issue in pulling out of Hinckley today? That's really going to please the French who GREAT Britain suddenly finds itself fawning too. Never mind, I'll always support little England.

Well according to reports last night, other similar projects involving the same players have gone massively over budget, plus the cost of power when finished to the consumer will be a lot more than now.
Very sensible to take a proper look again.
Still let us blame Brexit, the same as the Remoaners jumped on the Llloyds redundancies yesterday, only to realise the cuts were planned pre the referendum.

How humiliating it is that we have to get others to build our atomic power stations. That's down to the way our country has been run for 60 years. I agree that it's sensible to look at this contract again. Brexit will force the government to look carefully at all big ticket items.

It's so much worse than that...with France now given the leading hand in our Brexitt negotiations, and China being a massive investor in the UK could we possibly have upset two more important nations? Why couldn't we just annoy Andorra or Easter Island.

What contract again! Do you, or can you imagine that EDF or the Chinese are going to come back to the table again with this? Not on your Nelly.
Never in my rather long life can I recall the Government reneging on a massive project like this, it's a total embarrassment. Give it ten years we'll be trying to sneak into Albania for a better lifestyle.

You are right to suggest it's about increased freedom It's about self determination and direct democratic accountability. I am content knowing I made the right choice based on impeccable, logical/fact based reasoning. I will try to resist saying the Brexiteers saved 48% of the gullible, deluded project fear susceptible section of the population in the coming years as the EU inevitably implodes.

From your pov it's all about the money .. sovereignty/self determination/democracy are abstract, irrelevant concepts.

As long as your bank balance is OK sod the country or those poor uneducated types that fail to benefit from the status quo . How frightfully progressive.
