He played against us for Leicester at the Amex. I don't care for players or feel sorry as they aren't earning 50k a week even though fans earn an average 25k a year. They signed contracts so honour them and they'll only be sold when we decide. If they don't like it tuff shite then play them in the under 21s.

Considering he´s played against us, more than once, for Leicester.

He must be pretty stupid?

OK yes, I'm fully aware that he had probably heard of us. I was just making the point that until the turn of the year, BHAFC would not even have been on his little gaelic radar.

As fans, WE'RE the ones who make lifelong commitments to our clubs, WE'RE the ones who show loyalty, thats what we do. Thats our job. Players though, they're just passing through. Knockaert owes us nothing. A contract really isn't a commitment these days, its just insurance against losing a valuable asset for nothing.

Its like those ridiculous statements that come out saying so-and-so has signed a contract "which ties him to the club until 2020". It does nothing of the sort. All it does it have an affect on the level of compo when one or the other party decides it'd be best to say cheerio.

Yes but that's not the point is it. He signed for 3 and half years so any potential move is evelvent unless the club decides to sell and on the selling clubs terms. Can't have players coming and going on their terms as it'll make a mockery of contracts.

You don't seem to be quite au fait with how transfers work!!!

I'm convinced none of our star players will leave. Certainly not to a rival club anyway. I feel relaxed about it.

Am I missing something? 19 pages of doom and gloom after we once again rejected an offer for a player without any hint we'd let him go.
Does NSC need a collective hug?

I´d rather be loved than be rich.

Loved by the Toon army or loved by a bunch of delusional tutters who'll get on your back the moment you misplace a pass.

Tough call.

I hope you're right....but we still need another striker, ideally before the season starts.

Yea Newcastle fans are an endeering and patient bunch.
They are vociferous and passionate when faced with shitehouse players.
Exactly the same as when some pure class lands in their lap.

They are arguably the best fans in the country, mental to suggest other wise.
Whereas 6 months ago we got collectively called out by Zamora for being shite.

Ritchie is a left footed right winger and so is Knockaert.

Duffy is a large dominant type centre half and so is Dunk.

Both transfer bids do not seem high priority ???

Newcastle look to lose more players whilst the window is open.

More comments like this or other educational 'it's just a company' pseudo bollocks and i'll start tearing tufts of my hair out.

We're not in a state where players have zero affinity with clubs, their teamates and fans just yet.

That's not what I'm saying. If he was crap, like Elvis Manu, who cost nearly as much, many would be forming a lynch mob to run him out of town. We are loyal to the shirt, not the players or management. If the player turns out to be brilliant, such as Knockaert, he's accused of lacking loyalty if he leaves 'us' (even though he signed a four year deal with Standard Liege in July 2015). If the player turns out to be a turkey, such as Chris O'Gravytrain, on somewhere between £10-15,000 a week for three years, he's accused of being greedy by staying at the club and bleeding 'us' dry.

I agree, but the trouble is, if they were prepared to offer that kind of money, then the deal he'd be on up there would be lifechanging for him. In an ideal world we could bat it back and hold him to his contract, but we all know how these things usually play out. If he wants out, it'll only be a matter of time.

Yes he could get his head turned, but is he guaranteed a first team place? Are Newcastle better equipped to make it to the Prem than us? How much more will he earn? Everything has to be in place for the hike in wages to be worth it. Knockaert might think he stands a better chance at the Prem with us. Likewise the Albion might decide to sell for 12million and buy another 2 players. Thing is I think the Albion will only sell if they Know they can add 2 or 3 players with the cash.
