Posted on another thread, but relevant here too.

The Sunday Times has today called for a tactical Leave vote to allow Cameron to renegotiate the terms of our membership with the EU, suggesting an emergency brake on immigration is reasonable.

On Thursday, therefore, we should vote “leave”. Y.[/QUOTE

Seriously, if you think we can vote 'leave' then go back and renegociate our terms and remain, you are going to have a nasty surprise. If the outcome is leave, how well do you think if will go down if Cameron says 'NO! I am going back to Brussels to negociate a New Deal. Wish me well'. He would be thrown in the sea. If you vote leave and this is the outcome, we will leave.

I didn't write it! But I do think a close result will resolve nothing and in that case a second referendum may be required.

Doesn't say they are set to join does it.

The reason why Syria and Iraq have been singled out and coloured orange is not explained. It would be disingenuous to pretend that this means that the authors are NOT implying that Syria and Iraq will soon be in the EU. And what about that ludicrous claim about how much it is costing us. And the bogus impression this is an official document. Yes, you could argue that only a cretin would fall for this sort of misleading nonsense. So why is this organisation peddaling lies, and why are you apparently defending it?

I'm sure a bunch of cackling crones at the hairdresser's know more about the likely economic fallout than apolitical economic experts. So, good to have their input.

seems you completely missed the point. it doesn't matter what they know or dont know about the economy, what matters is their opinion of the debate and which side to vote for. if they are laughing at the Remain campaign, that indicates it has lost credibility no matter what it is they are saying.

It wouldn't be disingenuous at all.

Syria and Iraq are in the news a lot regarding refugees and ISIS. It would not be disingenuous to suggest the authors, rather than imply these two Asian countries may join the EU, are suggesting Turkey about to join is bad news because it boarders Iraq and Syria and would provide an easy access into Europe for said refugees and ISIS.

From the Guardian no less.

Brexit is the only way the working class can change anything
Working-class people are sick of being called ignorant or racist because of their valid concerns. The EU referendum has given them a chance to have their say.
I have lived in working-class communities all my life, and now that I research and write about those communities as a working-class academic, my motivation has always been to make sure that an authentic working-class woman’s voice tells our stories.

Working-class people’s voices are rarely heard outside their communities, and almost never within the political or media sphere. However the EU referendum debate has opened up a Pandora’s box of working-class anger and frustration. It is clear that the Westminster politicos are quite unnerved by this. Even I am surprised by how the referendum has captured the attention and the imagination of the same people that only last year told me they had no interest in the general election “because ‘they’ are all the same”.
Read on.

Q: Should there be an upper limit on immigration?

A: Jeremy Corbyn ‘I don’t think you can have one while you have free movement of labour’.

Nice to see a straight accurate answer from the Remain side that confirms we cannot control immigration, no chance of an upper limit ..... while we are in the EU.

Such a rare moment of honesty in this campaign ... it's worth posting again

so the leaflet doesnt say Syria and iraq are set to join the EU after all.

So there you have it, the 'official information' about the referendum is 'vote leave' because 'Syria and Iraq' are 'set to join the EU'.

Has anyone had anything more mendacious and disgusting put through their letter box from one of the main Brexit or Remain campains (things written in crayon don't count)?

Comment article from the Telegraph.

A couple of weeks ago, I was at the hairdresser, head under the mixer tap, with several women using the basins either side of me. On the wall in front of us was a TV screen. The volume was muted, but we could read the headlines scrolling along the bottom.

I forget which particular warning from Project Fear was making news that day – Third World War, feta cheese shortage, pensioners to lose the right to watch Countdown… they all blur into one, don’t they?

Suddenly, the woman at the far end burst out laughing. The laughter was contagious. Soon, all five of us were cracking up. “Does anyone believe this stuff?” asked one of the salon’s mystified juniors. “No!” we snorted.

If the Remain campaign could have heard that laughter, they should have been afraid. Very afraid. Ridicule is dangerous stuff. Cynicism you can talk round, anger defuse. But mockery is something else. Mockery is like mercury. Once it’s out the bottle, there’s no getting it back in again.

.

Sooty and Sweep have also warned today that leaving the EU would be a massive disaster for puppets. They have said that without a big hand continuously up their backsides, they simply would not be able to function.

This an article in the Mail online, which alleges that before his wife was killed, the husband of the MP criticised Farage.

The whole world would benefit enormously by a period of your silence.

If you don;t like my post's then get lost and don't read them.

I quite aware the husband's tweet was BEEEEEEEFORE his wife was killed. Why the hell is the Mail reporting what he tweeted.
Do you think it's even fair on the husband. It's not.

I may have missed the point, but who in remain in that article is capitalising? All I picked up is that the husband is carrying on with a belief for the EU that both shared. Hardly capitalising, and although i disagree and want to leave, his attitude is laudable.

If you can't work it out then I'm sorry for you.

Seriously, do you really believe that if we vote leave, there won't be a second referendum within months, probably after a snap general election (won by the tories, as Corbyn is unelectable)? Of course there will be one - the establishment isn't going to let the great unwashed spoil their fun just like that.

I agree I don't think if we vote Leave it will be that easy.I also believe it we vote Remain that won't be the end of it.There will be another referendum within 10 year.I have no doubt.

I also do not believe it we vote Leave there is no way back. The EU would be all over us if there was a hint we would go back. The only way to get reforms is to leave. In the EU we will get no reforms. Why should they give them. For what reason. They simply don't have to.Easy.

I will vote to leave.
Brussels is my main concern and when anything important is on the table most countries follow Germany, as I feel that they are under pressure and the appalling way Greece is being treated is not acceptable.
When I voted for joining the Common Market the Prime Minister assured the British people that the UK would never become part of Europe, but years later stated that it was inevitable the country would be in the EU - he expected it all along.
The idea of the EU is the same laws for all and borders will not exist so you will all be Europeans and not English,Scottish,Welsh or Irish.
For me it is governing your country and not being overruled by Brussels or going to Germany for permission.
