Let's face it Remain keep scoring own goals with their persistence in not giving clear and believable arguments on how they are going to stop immigration.

It's because remain are intelligent enough to realise they can't or shouldn't stop immigration.

I agree they have passed through other countries, but we are talking about the ones who are now in the UK, so where do you send them?

I was under the impression that we had not taken any refugees in, i understood that we were taking about 20,000, if this is the figure that OUR government agreed on then so be it, obviously it is not want the EU want, but hopefully in a few weeks they can swivel.

Regardless of the EU Referendum vote the housing crisis will deteriorate due to the Housing and Planning Act dedicated to cannibalising what is left of affordable housing stock. A large number of private landlords who also happen to be MP's have been the driving force behind this Act of Parliament.

To me this comes across as a conflict of interest, I suspect many will disagree with me though.

So do you think that a net figure (after emigration) of 330,000 a year (a town the size of Coventry, and bigger than Brighton and Hove population) a YEAR is sustainable, if you read the Leave campaign dossier it states "CONTROLLED immigration, not a complete shut out.
Ok firstly figures mean jack shit, and you keep missing my point, you'll never stop people coming here! As for my generation living in caves, as I keep stating we need to build more houses, more schools more hospitals but why would a CORRUPT government invest in affordable homes when it can screw the poor by making house prices and rents sky rocket day after day!??? As I keep trying to tell you this VOTE won't change the REAL issues we face, billions of pounds will still be avoided in tax, I'm amazed how everyone's getting caught up in this big effing cover up referendum when after its all finished we'll still be in the SAME boat ffs

Our economy is immeasurably better now than it was in 1964. We have more jobs than we've ever had. Unemployment is close to a ten year low (and not far off historic lows going back decades). Job vacancies are at just about their highest for 20 years (possibly longer - I just checked the data, but can't be bothered to search into the archives). According to the most recent figures there are approx 750,000 job vacancies currently in the UK. If we can't start to fill these, our economy will suffer. If there are so many Brits who are so capable, and being so badly impacted by immigration, then how the hell can there be so many vacancies?!

No better off thou. All about quality of life, which has gone down the pan. It will never work. We had manufacturing jobs back then.

Well Jim, Firstly as you well know i think 330,000 per year is frightening, so i would suggest we look at how many people emigrate (say 200,000) in a year, and using a system of skills or people for job vacancies we have, let the same amount in......just keep on an even keel.
We are the second most densely populated country in Europe.....i believe that is fact.

Thanks - the thing I don't get is that - if immigration is such a scourge - why don't we act to stop all non-EU immigration NOW. That would reduce the net immigration figure by more than half.
Another (much smaller) factor worth some consideration is that a Brexit will make it a lot less likely that Brits emigrate, so we will choke off one of the "release valves" that's working quite nicely now.

I think a lot of your points are not about the EU but our country, though unfortunately being in the EU does make the problems you post worse. We have enough trouble trying to get your points corrected when the decisions are made just here, let alone getting around the EU sticking their nose in.
So if we do build more houses perhaps if we can keep immigration controlled, then the people that live and have paid their dues for years, will get a property, rather than those 330,000 that are coming over yearly..

Well if fewer leave this country, then we let fewer in, one in one out. I would guess that a lot of our hospital staff come from outside the EU countries, that is why you can not close the non EU immigration. Probably a bad comparison but in my game you see all Eastern Europeans (jobs that our youth could train in) whereas very few from India, Philippines etc because they work in the NHS. Again points system whether EU or Non EU immigrants.

Regardless of the vote the housing position will deteriorate. Recent legislation proposed by this government, and around which both leave and remain MP's will unite and the proposed changes are likely to reduce the delivery of traditional forms of affordable housing (details to be published in regulations). The act also removes (save for limited exceptions) the requirement for affordable housing/contributions from small sites (of 10 units for less or less than 1000 metres squared).

Housing developers will therefore be able to concentrate of higher priced, higher margin, new houses which only the rich can afford.

Those who are at the bottom of the housing ladder are ****ed, unless they have wealthy parents or high incomes. It's a stitch up but everyone is so preoccupied with the referendum no one gives a toss about it.

If the remainders are right, and a vote for Brexit will not effect immigration much. 300,000 net immigration will keep happening every year on our small island?

No, it will definitely fall, because the economy will be so ****ed up, no one will want to here, so, Nigel, Boris, and all the merry band of outers will get their hearts desire

Problem with a points system is that it can result in even further migration. The Brexiteers keep talking about adopting the Australian system, but this is what has happened under such a policy

So far FOR exit we have Michael Gove, Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and now Rupert Murdoch.....surely we only need Kim Jong-Un and IS and we have the full set ? ... it's a big incentive to vote Remain in my book.

Don't forget Marie LePenn

Exactly this!
Also I'd like to bring a policy in so wealthy foreign investors can't just buy up all the new houses and keep them empty, give at least 75% first choice to people from or around that area, that'll be nice wouldn't it? Shame it won't happen [emoji20]

It is a depressing situation, this situation was there before the referendum, and will still be there after the vote......the question is which vote will be best for this situation, i believe out, many disagree..... :)
