Why keep asking the question, if you have been given the answer, It seems pretty clear to me.

Let me guess you are around 60 years old and y ou have just taken up the hobby of complaining about everything that annoys you.

I think he's 53 years old.

If you live in Hurst why would you bother with the bus. Just walk in to Hassocks and catch the train.

You might be surprised how far from the station you can be and still live in Hurst! I'm virtually in Albourne, so it would take too long to walk it as a matter of course. A taxi is about the same cost as the bus anyway.

I would like to use the bus because it is convenient and I would then be able to spend more money on beer at the stadium......

As I keep saying, my point is that if I didn't ask the question and just looked on the club and B&H busses websites, I could easily be under the impression that the busses were covered (which is what happened the first time I tried to use a Sussex Bus service without realising it was a service not run by B&H busses). The fact is that there is no available bus service within the area, so why show it on a map giving the impression that it is? If there were no busses at all that run through the village, it wouldn't matter, as it wouldn't be giving a false impression.

I'm just trying to understand if this is an issue across the "free" zone, or if Hurst is just unfortunate in having it's bus services run by different companies, whereas other places have the option of still using a B&H bus option.

I don't know why you're being given such a hard time about this, it seems like a genuine grievance to me. You've been told you can get free bus travel from where you are, but you can't, it's misleading. The information the club provides either needs to be clearer or the line on the map needs to be redrawn.

Wah wah wah this free stuff provided by the club doesn't benefit me as much as I would like so the whole thing is a joke.

How much is the fare to travel into an area covered by the free travel?

And finally, your attitude that everyone who disagrees with you simply doesn't understand is commendable.

Why is it relevant how much it costs to get to a free service? The club keep telling me I'm covered by the free bus travel zone, when clearly I'm not. THAT is the point that I keep suggesting that people have missed.

I agree. If the travel map shows something which in practice is not available, could it come under the Trades Description Act? Fair point, Sully.

The travel guide on the official website: http://www.seagulls.co.uk/documents/travel-guide-aug15-final-1229-2594348.pdf

Free Travel Services
For all Championship games at the Amex Brighton & Hove Albion FC offer home and away fans free travel on buses and trains within the Free Travel Zone (Details within this document). You can use your match day ticket, season ticket, or proof of match day ticket purchase to use most services between 11:30am and 9pm for a 3pm kick off and between 4:15pm and midnight for a 7:45pm kick off. Free travel services for other kick-off times will vary accordingly. Details of the bus and rail services that can be used for home matches at the stadium free of direct charge are listed below. Please note: Free travel is inclusive for all home league matches. Free services may also be offered for friendly or cup matches, but please check club information when purchasing your ticket.

...

Buses
There are a wide range of bus routes that serve the Amex. On a match day, the cost of your bus travel to the stadium is included in your home league match ticket on the following services:
• All Brighton and Hove buses (excluding services Lewes to Ringmer, Uckfield, and Royal Tonbridge Wells.)
• Stagecoach Coastline 700 & N700 services from Worthing

Simply show the driver your ticket, smartcard, or proof of purchase if collecting tickets at the ground. Senior citizen bus passes are also accepted and under 5s travel for free.

the map is titled 'free travel area', not 'free bus travel area'*. There is free travel within that area, some people may have to make a bit more effort to get to a place where they can be use it, but it is still available.

*Yes, the legend says bus travel, but the second point still stands. It is unreasonable to expect every inch of that area to be met with door-to-door coverage. Free travel is available, but some people will be further from pick up points that others.

It does say "free bus matchday travel area", just on the key for the map rather than the title.

Moan moan moan.

I would have thought that the travel guide provided by the club is perfectly clear, in that it stats:

There are a wide range of bus routes that serve the Amex.
On a match day, the cost of your bus travel to the stadium is included in your home league match ticket on the following services:

All Brighton and Hove buses (excluding services Lewes to Ringmer, Uckfield, and Royal Tonbridge Wells.)

Stagecoach Coastline 700 & N700 services from Worthing

If you then look at the Brighton and Hove Bus website and their very clear map which details routes that THEIR buses operate you will notice that Hurstpierpoint is not covered by a Brighton and Hove Bus route, therefore clearly the included bus travel does not apply.

As for you wanting the travel map amended so that it shows a different colour for Hurstpierpoint is just a non-starter. What next, the bus doesn't go down my road, so therefore that should be excluded as not serviced by a free bus, although I am within the area of free travel.

I just wonder who Victor Meldrew was based on.

Moan, moan, moan

Yes. Let's sue the club and bankrupt them.

That wasn't quite what I had in mind......

...... and I would like to think that a fine of about 0.70p would not bankrupt the club.

Sully, I'm on your side mate.
I live in Uckfield and would love the free bus to include the 28 & 29. Instead I have to drive in to Lewes Road P&R as it's cheaper than two returns on the bus.

If it bothers you that much contact Paul Barber, I'd imagine it affects relatively few people if the club haven't been complained to about changing their map by anyone else. If this was a dealbreaker for your season ticket ask for a refund, if not, your complaint will probably just cause unnecessary hassle for the club.
