That's because he would've spent it on Barnsley rejects.
Ahhh chicken and egg time.

Would he have spent it on a Barnsley reject because:-

a) That's all the club could afford.
or
b) That's the only place he would shop.

Northern Hemisphere.
Or Patrick Bamford? on loan with the scum till Jan, done brilliantly in the championship for Play off teams last 2 seasons, and Chelsea moaning this week that hes not getting game time with Nigels.

Perfect solution for his progression Jose, Take him out of that victorian era shit pit and send him to the table toppers with a modern set up and he can get back to scoring a hatfull again?

Not a bad shout.

Supposedly he had a bigger budget than when we were bringing in the likes of

Orlandi
Lopez
Vicente
Bruno
Kuszczak
Upson
Bridge

That in itself answers the question really. Of course all those players are probably shit according to "Moneyball" stats.

Depends a lot on how they measure the playing budget. Do they include all the players currently at the club including contracts and any staggered transfer fees or, when they talk about budgets are they only referring to what is available for new players including contracts, signing on fees, transfer fees and agents fees?

Totally wasted a fortune on dross in the 14/15 pre season.

Not enough praise or mention for Paul Winstanley imho, recruitment seems more of a team effort now, but set up now with Winstanley in recruitment has been brilliant thus far.

Good manager, good recruitment, experienced CEO, divisions best chairman. Top of the League

Can you imagine we don't sing him? 100 pages on a player we don't sign.

No kidding.
I want to be with you here - so are we really looking to spend > £ 7m on a striker? If the club have that available to invest, it would be a bit daft just going for one player, so who else are we looking at?

Well that's the point. I'm guessing, within the present recruitment regime, there would be other options considered.
