Shame we didn't get him...

If we had, there would have been a binfest over how signing non-league 'ones for the future' shows a lack of ambition,
and indicates how tinpot/cheeseparing TB/Barber/Whomever has to go.

According to the manager of the youth academy (responding to a question asked of him at recent q and a at the Hollbrook Club in Horsham) we didn't sign him because he refused to attend a week long assessment which the club insists all potential youth recruits attend in order to assess their character as well as their footballing skills. Seems sensible to me.

Made two late substitute appearances during a month long loan at Port Vale recently. Don't think we missed out on someone imminently likely to make an impact.

This offer from the club was made after he was approached by Hull City to sign. So it seems sensible to me he took the offer on the table, rather than waiting for a trial with us, with no guarantees.

So within 3 months at 20 years of age, he left Burgess Hill for a Premier League club, has now made his debut in the football league and that is not rapid progress in his career?

He's got great potential. Quick, scores and creates goals and has great balance. The latter stages of his loan at Port Vale coincided with some of their more experienced players coming back from injury and the team going on a good run, which reduced his opportunities there. I suspect Hull will loan him out again at the start of next season, probably to another L1 side.

As The Rev says, there's a couple of players at Hill worthy of a look. One in particular was due to have a trial at Stoke earlier this season but had to pull out through injury. He's also got the potential to be playing league football in the next couple of years and is a year younger than Greg.

I doubt top youth players will want to Audition for us! Especially when they have better offers

Greg Luer came on as an 83rd minute sub for Hull today, replacing Akpom, in their 2-0 win against Huddersfield. Just over a year ago, he was breaking in to Burgess Hill's first team! Very pleased for him and proud as a Hillian!

Greg came on as a second half sub for Hull tonight, scored in the 108th minute to put them 2-1 up and converted his pen in the shoot out as Hull won at Accrington Stanley! Superb!
