Sheffield fans never cease to amaze me. He can't possibly sign for us because we haven't played in a European Cup Winners Cup semi final in the 1970s or whatever else it is that makes a team fashionable nowadays. Nevermind the outstanding facilities we have oh and the simple fact he'll erm, be playing in a division higher and presumably for a pay rise. Yes indeed, why on Earth would he want to come here.

You forgot to add how wonderful Sheffield as a city is.

A song awaits....

How about from Marvin Gaye's Oh Mercy Mercy Me

Oh Murphy Murphy me
Things ain't what they used to be
Where did all the Blue skies go
The Poise is in the wind that blows
From the the North, West, South and East

To circumvent the 12 noon deadline could we not sign him on a 7 day loan where the deadline is later and complete the deal Monday.

Yes, because what we definitely need to do, what with one winger having scored all our competitive goals and the other being 100% fit and us being away which means we;ll need to tighten up is potentially put a last minute hitch in to the permanent contract by playing legal silly buggers so Murphy can sit on the bench as a loan

Other than that, it is a plan with no flaws.

We could get Murphy to legally change his name by deed poll to "Inigo Calderon" then we'd be able to play the classic Hughton attacking away formation containing 3 wingers.

:lolol:

How about we smuggle Murphy in to a life size Rohan Ince SUIT?

You forgot that they're more likely to be in the Championship next season than we are.

Everything and all the forms completed and signed so he couldnt change his mind so no problem., just not deposited with FL. Are you saying he is not an improvement on March or Lua Lua, if so why are we buying him. 3 points tomorrow would be good value against a team who I consider we will be competing with for a play off place.

I am certain we did it with a player at Withdean to play him in a midweek game but cant remember who it was. Signed him on loan Tuesday lunch time as he dealine 4pm and signed him fully on Wednesday.

Let it go. It is an awful idea and would highlight an opportunity for another club to come in and gazump us.

I'm saying we 100% can't drop Lua Lua at the moment, that we may well not start with 2 wingers or a 4-4-2 and that the effort involved in such a ludicrous deceit would be out of all proportion to the benefit we'd gain.

Do you not think we can win with the players we already have?

If he signs a contract then he is a Brighton player, so how can we loan him? If he doesn't sign a contract then we can loan him. So your suggestion of a loan would mean he could not sign until Monday. What do you expect to happen on Monday if he played and scored, do you not think that would make him more invaluable and therefore push the price up. As for Lua Lua played two scored 2, don't you think he deserves to keep his place.
