IMO I think he will sign. It seems quite plain to me, that the club are always looking for players to move on for a profit (and i can understand that ) . I mean Simon Church, even Chris Wood for me do not excite. However if he signs ,then i guess we have spent a good sum on untried Championship players....... A Gamble i guess..........Please can we have 1 or 3 championship ready players in the mix !!!!!

He should be made to walk on hot coals to prove his love for the Albion.

Only then should we consider signing him. Maybe after a yes or no poll on NSC or something.

His agent should be made to deep clean the toilet floors in the ESU as they're STILL FILTHY!

Only then will he be accepted by the masses after turning us down, the cheeky bugger.

This is the whole point ... missed.

We have Championship ready players.
We have them in abundance.
In every area of the pitch.
That's ALL we have.

The club has nothing else and is completely devoid of talent, esp going forward.

The reason this fella has attracted 18 pages of posts is because he is EXACTLY what the club needs.
Not only him but another 3 more like him.

V Bournemouth, at home, we looked like a team of Championship players and made them look like Barcelona.

Every break they had, was fast and with intent to score, and most importantly 4, 5 even 6 player strong.
If we want out of this league we need to be better than this league, standing still gets you relegated.

Bournmouth at home, they looked nothing like Barca. Didn't have shot until Kayal went off after about 70 mins!

It's pretty obvious he only 'rejected' our first offer cos we set a deadline and tried to push it through. His agent is waiting to see what else is out there - it's fairly normal and maybe we shouldn't have put the deadline in place or at least not so soon. But I'm sure we knew there was every chance we'd still get him - we were just trying to tie it down...

Re the 2 pren players, I wonder if one is Rosenior or if it's 2 extra players...?

They relentlessly attacked us, and we defended really well, without having a shot.
There was only one team that was ever going to win and they won.

The story of our plodding season.

Then we are playing the right players but not necessarily in the right order, because Bournemouth ,had championship players with pace !

My memory of that game is that the scoreline massively flattered Bournemouth.

This.

One word.

Calderon.

Different IMO, Calderon at no point turned us down, he just left his options open.

Whilst the Iranian may effectively be doing the same thing, his agents quote of 'turning Brighton down', is unhelpful and perhaps a better use of words would have been better.

My memory is sitting there for 90 minutes thinking 'why can't we do that', while watching Leon Best in stripes.

Seriously? They looked far from a league winning side that night, and the telly commentators agreed. Kayal bossed the midfield; we just didn't have anyone to put the ball in the net.

Not how I remember it, thought they were distinctly average.
We defended brilliantly plus they were wasteful in possession, obviously 2 sides of the same coin.

Even at distinctly average, they never looked like losing.
What did that make the Albion, esp in the final third, where this fella will be employed.
(unless of course CH decides he's 'holding' midfielder material).

That Bournemouth game was an odd one. They didn't look like a promotion winning team and we had a good first half.

I said to the guy next to me, "we're doing OK here". He replied, "yes, but they'll only need one chance to score and we'll need about 10".

That to me is the story of our season.

Against Watford, we matched them in all but the fact that they scored two.

Wasn't that different. Calde was out of contract and wouldn't sign for Poyet as he was in talks with Soton. Poyet gave him a deadline which passed. Calde was slated by virtually everyone on here as if he was Judas. Then of course he signs and is now classed as a legend. How fickle are so many on here?

Haven't pretty much all of the quotes come from google translations of articles in Dutch or Iranian and thus wording has to be taken with a big punch of salt?

Perhaps, but turning down is similar in most languages, I would suggest.

There are better ways of playing for time and the agent appears to have been a bit naive.

Only he was never quoted as 'turning us down', so it is different.

Fickle wise, of course, but then if the Iranian signs, I'm not one to heckle my own team.

Any player who pulls on our shirt gets my support.
