Not the real one
Lol
I'll more likely be saying "is Zamora crocked again"me thinks after playing 9 out of 46 games and getting 20k+ a week :)

A fit Zamora is exactly what the Albion needs. No you're right he won't be prolific as before but his movement, linking play, aerial ability and hold up play are what we have been missing since Murray. Ulloa wasn't even as good as Zamora at these arts. The question is over fitness, I'd imagine that no matter which club Bobby goes to his basic wage will be lower than his performance and appearance money. We would be a much better side with BZ in our team.

I have hardly seen him play since he left the Albion and so I have absolutely no idea whether we should sign him or not but he cant be any worse than the jokers we have had up front for the last few years (Murray was the decision that cost us the top flight. CMS? Really? We all knew after watching him once that he wasnt a patch on Murray. What were they thinking?)

I'm not so sure the second coming will be as dramatic as the first. An Albion legend, but, if we are to try and put together a team to challenge, this speculation does not excite me.

He's obviously past his best but, as someone else said, how on earth are we going to fund/find someone of his calibre?

I'm sure there are as many disasters as successes when it comes to bringing in old crocks but I'm firmly in the 'bring him back' camp.

After all, he's only 2 years older than that nice young Murray chap.

What's to lose?

You are not alone. Look at his goal stats for the last five seasons. Piss poor. Forget about promotion if people seriously think he will solve our chronic goal problems.

This is one area the club needs to get right and i'm afraid it's going to cost a fair wedge. People must stop creaming themselves over mid 30 something players returning like Zamora and Upson. It's time to build a pacey youngish team. These are the teams that play good football and get you out of this league. Look at Bournemouth, Watford, Burnley etc Young quick strikers who were prolific. Not pensioners.

I guess the last three windows and performance last year has left my Albion mojo pretty low at the moment. We have already had the 'its difficult...FFP, Working hard...FFP' statement from the manager, all that remains is Barbers input and there is always the loan window and judge at the end of the transfer window and we will be back where we started. Bobby as a foil and hold up man for young, quick , attacking additions makes sense. Bobby as the major striker signing to get the goals needed does not. I just hope it is the negativity surrounding my Albion beliefs at the moment, but I fear this could be the latter and done also as some sort of attempt to get the fans back on side.

Bobby would play for us for peanuts and be available more often than you would think
That's quite a bold statement concerning a player who 'doesn't really like football', and has been unable to play back to back 90 minute games for quite a while.

Peanuts? I guess it's all relative, but I'm fairly confident he would be our highest paid, by some stretch, if we wanted him here

Poor stat.

Wednesday 4th March, Bobby played 90 minutes against Arsenal.
Saturday 7th March, Bobby plays another 90 minutes against Tottenham.

Two 90 minute games (against high quality opposition) in a week. Something that O'Grady didn't manage for us all season.

as others have said - if he can stay fit then i think he has a lot to offer as a hold up/link player that we desperately need. we also need a goalscorer though.

Add in the romance, the excitement, the shirt sales and the mere anticipation of seeing him in the stripes again and its just got to happen!

Excellent point.

Hope we get this one over the line.

He also did v Villa followed by Chelsea.

But that's it.

2 sets of back to back games, out of 12 (TWELVE) starts in a 31 game appearance season scoring 3 goals and creating 4 assists.

The previous season in the Championship BZ started 9 (NINE) in 21 appearances scoring just 4.

Any other player, with those credentials, commanding the wage he'll be expecting, would have this board in up roar.
