Not sure if you're fishing, clueless or just never played the game. Cricket is mostly played in the head. It's about confidence, even cockiness. One guy disrupting the atmosphere, getting his mate Piers Morgan to slag you off every time you get a low score and then texting his chums in the oppo hilariously about it would be the last thing you'd need. The KP question is all about if he did those things and if he'd do them again. I wouldn't risk it for 50 extra runs or so, especially given how we've played today and yesterday.
I think he apologised for all that and has supposed to have tuned over a new leaf.

He turned down a lucrative IPL contract this year to show his intention to be the England player that helped win ashes series in the past.

But hey, you want England to be perfect gentlemen this summer, and go down meekly to the tough Aussies who will be sledging the poms mercilessly.

This private school posh people to play for England mentality needs to end in this day and age.

Did you actually watch the last two days? See the Kiwi born Stokes (later of Workington) and the Kashmiri immigrant Ali's contribution? Ashington born Mark Wood? Does the Cumnor House educated Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan write your copy?

Said the man who wants private school educated Kevin Pietersen to play.

Regardless of whether he's good for team morale or not, his form doesn't warrant it. In the last two series he played he averaged 34: Ballance (who you want dropped) has a test average of 55 - and is 12 years younger. There's no way that KP could justify a place in the team right now

Correct answer. Who would he replace ?

Ugh. Why should their schooling have anything to do with being picked?

I've got a brilliant idea. Why not get the paupers playing cricket and stop selling off land that would act as a cricket field.

I'm sorry if anyone thinks Gary Balance is a better batsmen than Kevin PIeterson it obviously is a football site.

you can twist stats to suit your course, but KP stats rank with the greats in the game.

Even in the last disastrous ashes series, which batsmen had the best average for England ? not Cook

Fantastic result to bowl a side out twice on a batting wicket. England look as if they have found two good quicks in Stokes and Wood to support Broad and Anderson. We still need a quality spinner to replace Swann but that said Ali and Root can fill in a few overs to give the seamers a rest.

I still think that one day soon KP will be back in the England team, whatever people think about him as a person, KP should be batting at four with Bell at three. I'd also have a second look at Compton to open the batting but you have to give Lyth a chance now that he has been selected.

England won't be the push in the Ashes that people originally thought.

Mostly agree, but KP won't return. Only potential vacancy will be at opener.

KP is well past his best. That is the main issue but couple that with his personality and you have somebody who is not wanted and not needed.
Tonight is a time to celebrate a great English victory but to say KP is past his best is a complete joke. The new coach (whoever) will surely make sure that the ECB and KP sit down and get it sorted and get him back in the England squad. Improve the sides man management and tell KP to keep his mouth shut.

I think you might have a little more credibility as a cricket expert if you could manage to spell Ballance's and Pietersen's names correctly.....

What really struck me in this Ashes test was the unity between all the players. KP was a devistating batsman and I enjoyed watching him both live and on the box. Will that Unity still be there with KP on the field? I don't think so. Time for England and KP to move on.

Although I think one of the two parties mentioned will have trouble moving on, and it ain't the England team.

Bell's form is dreadful, has been for 12 months. Ballance is one of the world's top run scorers in test cricket over the past 12 months. If anyone were to make way for KP at no.4 it would be a straight swap for Bell.

Also, we have to give Lyth some time. Pointless going through opener after opener. I actually thought Lyth got 2 excellent deliveries in this match, so we'll see what Friday brings for him. He's got to be given a chance though.

I'm pretty sure it was KP if you look it up on google.

However it seems Brighton fans don't agree with me that KP has served his time of punishment and should be back in the England side to face the might of Australia.

The bible reading of the prodigal son means nothing on here. I shall have to agree to disagree with the above responses to my statements.

It was Stokes. KP was second, very marginally ahead of Carberry.
