Densely populated constituencies so no huge distances to get boxes, also the Labour majorities in those specific seats are so large they can be incredibly sloppy with the voting as a few votes here and there cannot make an impact.

Not the accent making counting quicker then?

The Australian urging people to not rush into government-forming decisions. As if she is likely to have anything to do with it.

Just far enough away from LDC
So lib dems could be all but decapitated

I think from what I've seen that there are 40 seats that bbc are giving to cons from lib dem and labour that local people are saying it's too close to call

Peter Kellner is spot on, 310 seats is enough to form minority government. No need for coalition. I would have expected labour to form a minority if they'd got 290

As if she should have anything to do with it.

That is true, but even as a Tory I am just as uncomfortable with the idea of my party having to govern with a party only standing in one part of the country as I would be with a Labour-SNP deal. I think whatever happens we will finally have to face up to changing to some kind of proportional representation. I would also like to see far more decentralisation within England, with an English parliament and things like hospitals and schools run at county level. Yes, people would complain about postcode lotteries, but it might make more people go out and vote.

Read something interesting today that AV would have actually help the Tories tonight. If used in the UK (due to our voting behaivour) it would probably lead to majority Governments.

Does anyone understand it though?
