I am in Singapore, unBle and uninterested in watching the match. All I know is that the ref is not to blame.

Can we all just agree that Brighton are toilet, cannot score a goal if the other side play rush goalie with 9 men, and just need to get this season ended asap.

IT AINT THE REF,.

I would agree that we didn't win because we can't score goals...... BUT
1. The aforementioned tackle on Dunk from where I was sitting in the South-wear corner looked more like GBH than anything else.
2. It seemed to me that we totally outplayed them for the first 25 mins or thereabouts, and di well elsewhere in the match as well.

Personally, I think he was too short. He can only have been about 4ft 9ins.

Watching it back the referee did not get a lot right. He obviously thought as Watford had something to play for he would give them all the decisions.

The ref was abysmal today. Not using it as an excuse as he has no influence on our ability to score a goal. But he was shit.

At the game it looked a red all day long and I've just come home and watched it again. Still a definite red for me even if the commentator disagreed. It was dangerous, late and high.

Spot on. Not to mention the push on CMS as others have mentioned, you could also throw in when the defender leaned into Bennett in the first half, though it would have been soft.

If it's alright to moan at one of our own players having a bad game, then the officials are fair game too. They all get paid by us to be there, so if they are not performing effectively, then fans have every right to have a whinge.
Today's officials did NOT cost us the game, but without any shadow of a doubt we all witnessed some shockingly bad basic decision making, and they deserve all the flack they are getting.

We were the better side in the first half for about 30 minutes then reverted to character.
Watford were shite too, but just finished better than we did.
Referee and the lino on the East side should never f***ing work in football ever again, utter disgrace to the FA and to the game.
Watford wont stay up.

For me personally Bloom should have started enquiring about players for next season 6 months ago, god forbid if he does his
usual bargain bucket rifle two weeks before the season starts like he has every season we have been there.

Hughton needs more time, he is a good manager but needs decent players to do it with.

Mr. Baz, I like the cut of your gib. So many games this season that have followed the same pattern. It's all about getting the right players in now, we don't need to make many changes, just the right ones.

I've just watched some of the sky coverage.

It left me thinking that, should Don Goodman ever come home and catch Keith Stroud in bed with his wife, he would watch from over his shoulder and say "The referee's got that absolutely spot on."

I don't think there were any particularly controversial decisions. Deeney yellow was correct decision. The challenge on CMS was never a penalty. We could have possibly had a penalty in the first half for a shove on Bennett but it would have been harsh.

There were or we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Worst for me were the corners given as goal kicks and goal kicks given as corners!

Problem is though can you blame every ref for this poor season - has every ref recently been that poor to allow hardly any Brighton goals to be scored?

I can't speak for everyone but I've been dismayed at the refereeing this season, not because I think its cost us points, but because I genuinely think the standard has been poor.

They've been largely inconsistent in their decisions, some have seemingly been unable to impose themselves on the game, every single one of them has been far too lenient, in my eyes, with regards to time wasting.

And it continues every week. Players seem to realise the current crop are inept wimps and take the piss. We've done it too, our players certainly aren't innocent in playing the ref either.

I just find it so frustrating that an individual whose job is to ensure the smooth and fair running of a game seem largely incapable of doing so.

Earlier in the season I think Le Tiss on Sky Sports summed it up when he said the FA know most of the refs are poor but what can they do, they're stuck with them. Even the so-called elite bunch are poor and their running around wearing the EUFA or FIFA badge on their chest just have a look at the Arsenal goalie taking out the Chelsea forward and no peno. Most deserve the stick they get.

Just watched the Arsenal Chelsea game on TV, 3 penalties not given where replays show they should have been.
Even more inconsistent was the Cahill "handball" not given yet when a ball bounced of the ground and hit an Arsenal player it was a free kick.Ref bottled it.

Maybe now is the time for instant video replays, to aid the refs in getting things right as in the rugby. At least to stop the constant cheating and winning of free kicks, penalty's and getting other players booked or sent off, it is now getting beyond a joke. Its not a football match any more it seems more a game of who can cheat the best.

Think you will probably find that they are instructed by the referee not to give a decision, even for a throw, until they have checked with him. The ref will normally give a signal one way or another before the flag is raised for the benefit of the crowd.

More use having a camera on a set of wheels than assistants these days
