In the Palace-Albion game of October 2005, Wayne Henderson, our keeper that day, was constantly pelted with coins and bottles at the Holmesdale Road end, as was Gary Hart when he picked the ball out of the net after Clinton Morrison’s stoppage-time goal was disallowed. Moreover, I was one of the Albion fans by the corner-flag, in the away end, at whom were thrown several coins. I complained to the stewards, but they stood around doing nothing.

I don't think that it is an established fact that the coach driver did the deed. It seems to be conjecture on the part of Paddy McCarthy.

I think that the reason why this has been unresolved for so long is because no-one knows for sure what really happened, and those closest to the events have formed an idea of what most likely happened, and this is the story that has been doing the rounds.

I would have thought that an absence of any apologies over Poogate is because no-one is clear as to what actually happened.

The coin throwing is utterly deplorable, any palace fan trying to defend that has no place at a football ground. no excuses, shameful.

Newcastle knew exactly what they were doing by celebrating there, they were edging closer to the crowd as more of them arrived, they are in no way culpable but they were being provocative and they should have realised that a small minority of fans haven't grown up enough to restrain themselves.
On a side note there is no way that coin came from the HF, I was to the left of them in block C, the coin came from my left i.e. block D , try not to throw blame at the only group of fans you can name as it kind of invalidates your post.

Both scored at the Holmesdale End today (as did Newcastle midweek) and, as with the Newcastle players, wheeled away in front of the Holmesdale Massive towards the away fans housed alongside the pitch.

There did seem to be general angry gesticulations from the black-clad ninjas behind the goal, but no monetary instruments seem to be have been thrown.

Wasn't expecting any coins to be thrown.

Dougie has already informed us that the youth was led away at half time against Newcastle.......and we all know how much Dougie knows about anything. He has a lot to say......but not a braincell in sight.

'By celebrating there' haha - if you think the 'Holsmsdale Italians' are in any way special or 'feared' you are truely wrong. If any of the neutral football twitter accounts put a pic of their latest 'stunt' up you've only got to read the comments underneath from footy fans around the country to realise how people view them!

Think all dancing celebrations of goals are cringeworthy, scoring a goal used to be an impulsive explosion of jubilation but today it's a pre planned dance routine by overpaid kids with average talent

Yes they do,at southend a few years ago brighton fans pelted the SUFC keeper with coins ,as I was down the front they got me to ,on the plus side I made about 3 quid !
