I'll second (or third) the Cape buffalo. Not just hard but double hard, you simply don't mess with them.

Has a bull shark ever closed a beach or had a film made about its hardness? NO. Has a Honey Badger, Cassowary, Ant or PILLOW ever scared off an entire beach full of ruff tuff Aussie outdoors types, some of who might have used or even made GUNS n stuff? NO.

Cut and pasted from a clickbait list. The last bit is worrying. You can close the beaches, but these are coming up the streets.

"It may come as a surprise that the Bull Shark, and not the Great White Shark or Tiger Shark wins the “worst in the water” award. The Bull Shark is endowed with an extremely aggressive personality, and is in fact considered by scientists to be the most vicious fish on the planet. The shark’s predilection for attacking humans in shallow water has led to many fatalities and may be to blame for a number of mysterious disappearances. The supremely ferocious fish has the strongest bite of all sharks, with a force of up to 6000 newtons. Even more disturbingly, the shark can adapt to freshwater, and has appeared in a number of rivers and lakes in warmer regions, and even flooded streets."

When people mention scary spiders, black widows and brown recluses often top the list. Yet the Brazilian wandering spider is undeniably the most terrifying of them all. Territorial, aggressive, and highly venomous, these spiders are arguably the most dangerous species in the world. Even worse, these freaky arachnids are now quite common in southeastern parts of the United States.

The salt water croc

The world’s largest reptile also carries the most ferocious disposition. Saltwater Crocodiles reach lengths of over seven meters (23 ft) and may weigh up to 2,000 kg (4,400 lbs). Possessing immense jaws capable of the world’s most powerful bite, the full grown “Saltie” is not only the most physically capable killer among reptiles, but is considered the most aggressive, actively predatory and territorial crocodilian species. This super-reptile tends to view human prey as a simple meal, and they will rather casually consume humans on sight. Salt Water Crocodiles may also destroy boats and kill human and large animal intruders during territorial defense.

A left field suggestion, the shrew

Shrews distinguish themselves by their incredibly high metabolism, which gives them an extraordinarily high strung and vicious disposition. Shrews must eat constantly, and in order to sustain themselves, they savagely attack prey twice their own size, including mice, fish and frogs. Shrews can inject venom when they bite, but they normally kill by crushing the base of the skull. Shrew aggression is extremely hazardous to any animal that approaches

Second this, you can't have WHC with the croc making an appearance.

Right - let's get this party started:

1. The poison dart frog is found in Central and South America. As well as having brightly coloured and patterned bodies, their backs ooze a slimy neurotoxin that is designed to keep predators away and is toxic enough to kill 10 humans in one go.

2. Australian Box Jellyfish - already nominated. I second

3. Elephants kill on average 500 people a year worldwide. And considering an African elephant weighs in at around 16,000 pounds, you don’t want to stand in one’s way. If it doesn’t stomp on you, it will protect itself with its giant sharp tusks.

4. In Africa, hippos account for more human deaths each year than any other mammal. Most of these deaths occur by people being trampled to death or by their boats capsizing in hippo-infested waters. They won’t eat you once it’s killed you - they'll just kill you for FUN.

5. Each year 50,000 people are killed by snake bites. The majority of these fatal bites come from cobras, specifically the King Cobra.
Widespread throughout forest regions of south east Asia and India, the King Cobra is the world’s most venomous snake.

6. The hardest, most deadly creature on the planet is the mosquito. Despite measuring no more than 0.6 of an inch, the irritable beasts kill on average two million people a year.
