I printed at home for the Millwall match.

When I got to the gate, I was told the print was too small for the scanner to read, and I had to go to the ticket office to get a 'proper' ticket.

There must be an explanation for this - why don't they just give it?

Magic.

What size did you print it? Does it not always come through as document to be printed as an A4 sheet?

Anyway - if you think the ticketing for this has been a stress.

Imagine what it will be like, there is a REPLAY...

It did, but despite a nearly-new LASER printer, producing the barcode in CRISP definition, it was too small for the reader.

Mind you, for that game, I would have been better off queueing at the ticket office for 2 hours, instead of watching the utter SHIT that Hyypia and his team served up.

OMG. Perhaps the club have just realised it is going to be an #OMNISHAMBLES at the turnstiles with all these home-printed tickets. #OHSHIT

Wouldn't we only get about 8000 tickets... and they would all be PRINTED by the Arse... so should be EASY

Yes, but they'll arrive at the Amex on Wednesday, and they'll put them on sale to STH with 2,000 Loyalty Points, on Friday, then have one ticket window open, and two people answering the phones (one of whom is new and doesn't really understand how to use the phones). Then they start posting them out (second class) on the following Monday, 36 hours before the game.

My (and others in our group) tickets were sold twice last time we played these goons - hope this doesn't happen again. Was a right ball ache finding a space (was able to get in/scanned in fine which was also worrying....)

Getting to my seat early this time. #learned

Is it becaue they've decided to limit the number of print at home tickets to a specific percentage (now reached), so as to limit the hold-ups at the turnstyles because of poorly printed bar-codes that don't scan?

You may well have touched upon the reason, Certainly in the past there have been many occasions when the turnstile doesn't pick up the bar code of print at home tickets, that have been printed on poor quality paper.

This has then meant that the ticket holder is directed back to the already understaffed and overworked ticket office just before kick-off time to resolve the issue.

Corrected for you

Some small barcodes will not scan at supermarket self scan checkouts and annoyingly more so at regular checkouts using either the bi-directional scanner or a scanner gun. With a small (10mm length) barcode the numerals underneath are also very minute and a magnifying glass is needed to accurately key in the number.

Why hasn't the club introduced the option of sending the barcode in a text to mobile devices ? Has to be preferable to supporters printing out illegible barcodes.

Presumably there's nothing stopping everyone from bringing the PDF saved on their phone, as well as the printed copies.

Oh joy! :(

Thanks for mentioning this, I think I will turn up very early for the Arsenal match.

I must have printed at least 50 tickets for gigs at home. This has often been done on a knackered inkjet printer, and the printout has then been folded multiple times to fit in my wallet. They've scanned without trouble on every single occasion.

Somebody sold the Albion an extremely dodgy system.
