Swindon, but used to be Manila
I chose not to drive down for the Millwall game and saved myself £70 in petrol just before Christmas. That is our choice and I have no argument obviously.
It doesn't change the fact that by charging the same for a premium cup tie as for a league game (and not a penny more) the club is not being unreasonable.

Maybe not...... but my season ticket is £45 per month..thats normally 2 games, Add on away trips to Fulham, Brentford and Charlton....something has to give,
The Arsenal Game is on TV so that way we are saving about £120.,
Also now the Ipswich Game is midweek a few days before Arsenal....and a Home game the previous saturday.
When you add up £30 in petrol for each home or away game its adds up quite fast.
If we was not travelling the 240 miles round trip every home game I am sure we would go to the Arsenal game.

Beach mate.

I am not the only one who lives outside Brighton (Kent to be precise). That day will
cost me 20 quid or so in travel before I even start to think about the ticket price and
the odds and sods that go with a match-day thing. And a Sunday to boot.

Personally, the Cup is not what I'm interested in - so yes - you may think they are
fair prices, but for me, there is no question - it's a 'no'. 60 quid in pocket for a match
we ain't gonna win.

Each to their own however the cup gives the option to play higher opposition so as Arsenal are a consistent top team in England then Category A pricing is justified.

You don't need to justify your spending to anyone on here.

Wow it would have been a crappy Christmas with some of you tightwads

So lets compare - let's take a TV & internet package - around £50 for the whole month without premium sports and movies. Add in Netflix for another £7. So you will have around 30mb broadband ( giving you access to all the latest on demand TV - i.e. hundreds of hours ), over 200 TV channels and free phone calls FOR A WHOLE MONTH !!!!!!! Now compare that to going to this 90 minute match with a 11 year child and a 8 year old child for around £52 before extras like the odd drink and a programme.

The TV and media companies have invested far more than the £200m TB has ( although I'm very grateful to him ) in their infrastructure. They pay far more in salaries than TB does.

Does football still seem like value for money ?

They've also got far more customers.

I can't get to many games so happy to pay top price for this if I can go. Only stumbling block is I have my 9 year old daughter with me who is not a football fan. She actually asked to go to a game last season so for her first game I took her to the 1-1 draw against Blackpool, expecting an easy victory and a few goals, should have known better :ffsparr: Surprise surprise she hasn't asked to go again.

This could be a hard sell !!

That is really sad - I hate to think of kids turning away.
