It could get very interesting if Farage does not get elected as an MP in 2015 yet Ukip get a smattering of MP's. How long would it be before the MP's realised that in order to push on as a party they had to dump the slightly odd Mr Farage and his views ?

Perhaps his views are not slightly odd to everyone though.
It does make me smile when assumptions are made, opinions are given on a party that has not been in government. Obviously people have a crystal ball, or liken them to the tosh that has been served up from the past and present governments.
Perhaps wait until their manifesto is published before assuming.

In reality, UKIP is a one person party, it is all about Farage. If he does not get elected we will have a situation where the tail wags the dog, and, the dog might decide to get it's tail docked. One person Parties tend to fizzle out as the cult of personality is eroded.

I guess we shall just have to wait and see. So far all the negative press and slandering from the other parties does not seem to have diminished support.

i wonder if you are aware theyve been around 20 years and i think he's the 4th leader? they do a line in big personalities - recall Kilroy being prominant in the 00's? - but i dont think we can dismiss them as about one person. they have been more successful electorally than the Green Party (though they have arguable had more success in guiding policy over the past decades).

Not clutching at straws at all, my life will go on pretty much as normal whatever the result of the next election. However, Ukip's life depends on Farage and how he polls.

UKIP believe that
Council tax should be as low as possible

Immigration must be controlled to relieve pressure on our ,health ,education ,housing and welfare services

Green spaces should be protected- they oppose excessive housing developments , wind farms and HS2

Need more police on our streets, cracking down on crimecand anti-social behaviour

Councils should cut highly paid council executives , not front line staff and services

real decision makingshould be given to local communities

Money should be used for local services, not the EU, foreign aid and foreign wars

Government at local, national and european level has become too remote, the political class have forgotyen they work for us, Bureaucrats and
professional politicians have taken over and the people are too often ignored

UKIP will bring back power to the people, decisions will be made locally, common sense policies will make lives easier and government will do what is needed, but no more

If you're talking about the Nazi Party then I don't believe that Hitler actually started that. It just took off once he became it's leader. It would be unfair to compare Hitler with Farage because Hitler had a moustache and a chin!

Gods country fortnightly
The bizarre thing is UKIP's core vote is the over 60's, the ones who have benefited from being in the EU more than anyone else. I'm sure Victor Meldrew will be voting UK next May..

Open door immigration is crippling local services in the UK ,right or wrong ???
regards
DR

Wrong, immigrant tax receipts outweigh the money they take out. You look at a sector like University education, it is largely funded by foreign students

The immigrants aren't crippling local services, lack of investment is.
