The honest report is about 20 of them got off and went in the Top House but there was no one in there. It was a bank holiday Monday. We were struggling at time and hadn't won in ages. Palace came proper mob handed. We won two nil. As the second went in a load of them left and smashed the club shop up.
I think it was 1987. We got relegated but came back up the next year with the new strike force of Nelson and Bremner.

We were all in the East that day, it got a bit lively in the park post match.
West Street was also lively pre match as we were drinking in the Cranbourne,
it seemed as though every 5 minutes we were coming outside to meet our friends.

I remember the game at Selhurst in1980 and there was a sea of blue & white in the whitehorse that day,& the game at the Goldstone the day the Palace fans went into the Top house & the Hassocks Hotel I had seats in the West Stand with a Brighton mate came out of that road on to the Old Shoream rd and nearly got a kicking from my fellow Palace fans as they came running down the rd chasing aload of Brighton towards the pub on the corner.Getting back to the game in 1980 remember my Uncles mate went to his first ever football game that day saw a few Palace giving a lone Brighton fan a kicking so went over to stop them & ended up getting nicked Police thinking he was trying to fight the Brighton fan

It was not, I was only about 12, you couldn't have been much older, I was shittin meself

I remember we was drinking In the William Tell before the match. Blackpool were in town about 88? They brought a few down and when we were in the ground word was that someone had been stabbed down West street. It turned out it was someone I knew from woodingdean and he wasn't really interested in football.
