I think you are missing the point. You are perfectly entitled to comment that, in your opinion, the club has performed poorly in the transfer window.

If you however post a comment that is defamatory in relation to an individual at the club which could be damaging to their career, then that could be deemed to be libel. You can say that Kemy is overweight, CMS is overpriced, Paul Barber is overpaid, but you cannot accuse them of being a thief, liar, childmolester etc unless you have evidence to back that up.

Got it.

As long as I can still call Kemy overweight and Chicksen rubbish I'll be okay! :lolol:

Personally, I am appreciative of the reminder to not post libellous, or potentially libellous, content. It's good to be reminded once every so often that things we say online are very much in the public domain.

Also, my own desire to not be sued aside, I think its only fair for Bozza to do his best to limit the potential for damage against him.

Blimey, you'd think people are having their human rights violated, the level of histrionics in this thread.

Hmm. I blame the internet and conspiracy theories. All Bozza did was to say 'Watch what you post' and everybody's gone: "Wow, who said something bad about Barber?" And when the mods replied: "No, no, it's just a general timely warning given what the Football League have been discussing" the response has been "So it WAS something bad about Barber! Why can't we criticise the club any more?" thus getting the wrong end of two sticks at the same time.

Anyway the beer's still too expensive. FACT.

Not far off, there. A reasonable request from Bozza, and some people just WANT to find something to moan about, even if it's irrelevant or a deliberate misunderstanding.

I don't know much about defamation but here's a picture of a kitten.

This thread has been useful in identifying those most likely to transgress, all of whom have now been added to a special list. Thanks all.

But there is a fine line between stating an opinion about someone and saying something libellous. I once described someone involved at the club as a "corporate liar" which resulted in NSC closing for a couple of hours and a bollocking from Bozza. Obviously I respect NSC so won't be so forward with my opinions again, but libellous - really?

Good for Bozza.

How difficult would it have been to say something like "Person X says Y, but the situation seems to be Z. What are the facts?".

No need to make accusations (sorry, "opinions") about club matters that none/few of us know all the facts about.

Are you trying to claim that some people on NSC overreact to everything? Cannot say I have noticed

I can see this edict reducing the number of threads with a FFP theme.

Is it just me or is everyone getting this weird new homepage?
