This will only effect next year's election if those in power get in the way of any investigation going on now, I would have thought. So far they do not appear to be doing so.

I also think we need to be careful here - there are 2 names on this thread already that have not been found guilty of anything yet. Just saying like

I understand that the 'prominent' local MP alluded to on here, and named in the on line article, has already successfully sued people over this.

Some politicians will take the fall in the coming year so the Royals stay protected.

How old was Blair in this photo? This is an Eton, Aristocracy, Politician, Royalty, Judicial system mega-ring.....been going on for decades.,,,,,,but most need to wait for the telegraph / daily mail / sun to catch up with what others already know.

I was told about Cyril Smith and his preferences for young boys and this was back in the 1980s. I did not hear this first hand, but the original source of the information was someone in Special Branch. If you look at the way that Jeremy Thorpe was destroyed a few years earlier, it is hard to believe that the establishment, had suddenly decided to look after a rotund northern liberal MP. He was left alone rather than risk bringing down others much closer to the establishment, I guess we are going to see some of these dark secrets exposed and I doubt anyone will come out of this with much credit. My only hope is that there can be some justice for the victims after all this time.

Full marks to the British press for forcing the issue.

Couldn't disagree more. The Eye was reporting Elm House over 30 years ago, for years the press in this country hasn't gone anywhere near it. Whether this is motivated through fear or complicity I'm not sure.

I'm not sure if it looks like any of our institutions should come out of this unscathed.

Watch out for the Government calling for a public enquiry and sacrificing a few scapegoats a la Leveson/ phone hacking. It's up to all of us to keep the pressure up on this.

Elm House was reported in Private Eye at the time (or very soon after.)

It certainly was, and has been reported on approximately every 5 years since. I think that they got sued for libel once too about this topic... which reminds me...

Folk - do be careful about what you post here please. Avoid naming people (or giving "clues" that are so damn obvious that it can only be one person) that have not been convicted of a criminal offence. It's fine to talk about the case in general terms, but not fine to libel people who have not been convicted of a crime (or, in most cases, even been charged). Spring Hall convert - obviously, this paragraph is not in response to your post!

30?......no wait 35?..........what do i win?

is it the equivalent to the sum total of your legal fees should you consider to continue.

what i'm saying is blair (as most know) was groomed for the PM position years before by bilderberg etc - and was in the "elite clique" - and him hanging around with the satanic monster doesn't paint a good picture does it.

I wouldn't necessarily class that as hanging around together.

well it's not a long distant phone call or passing in the street is it.

Mod edit: Links to sites containing potentially libellous claims removed.

This may "all out" in the next few years......but most probably a few will take the fall to protect those at the heart of it.

You've got to be mindful that editors decide what they publish according to whether they think they'll get sued. The inactivity of civil servants, politicians and police to follow up on evidence that has been copied to the press is a prime reason why the papers appear to have done nothing when, in fact, they would have been keen to publish as this sort of stuff is great for sales.

The second factor here is the internet. This wasn't around in the 70s and 80s but now the press themselves can read the rumours and gauge the public's appetite for a story, the press lawyers can get their case for publishing watertight. A superinjunction is effective when you're gagging a handful of newspapers but in these days it is almost impossible to suppress the story itself, so it becomes a less potent weapon.

In terms of the Government, this story will either make or break Theresa May. If she does the right thing she could cement her position as leader-in-waiting, but if she makes a balls-up she'll have missed her chance. Therefore, she has every incentive to go further than her colleagues have done previously, and I expect she will. The X Factor, of course, is if a member of the Royal Family is involved.

that Blair was groomed by the bilderberg group.....with their masonic illuminati agenda?

Possibly. Not sure why you find that so hard to believe? How many times have you heard him speak on behalf of the Labour party or seen him in Parliament since he left office? He used the Labour party for another agenda. He was about as Labour as Thatcher was.
