Sky now saying 2.5!!!!

Sky Sports sources understand that Sunderland have reached an agreement with Brighton for midfielder Liam Bridcutt. It is believed that a £2.5million deal is in place and that Bridcutt will undergo a medical on Thursday afternoon.

That's pathetic, player of the season for 2 years. & now wait for the announcement to appease supporters... Seagulls sign Dale Stephens. Exciting!

£4m sounded decent, £2.5 doesn't sound great given the price that others players are going for

And people thought we'd get £5m :lolol:

I never thought we'd get £5m even if I think he was worth that. I would however have thought £3m would have been a reasonable compromise to get the deal done. In my view this is a low price, but if it does enable us to complete other deals then I can live with it.

Given that Bridcutt has had his heart elsewhere for most of the season and we need to get on with bringing players in I suppose Sunderland had the upper hand in the end.

Sky say its 2.5 million. Medical today. Too cheap!! Hopefully some add ons??

If the fee is undisclosed , Sky will say it is the last known bid that was turned down. When we sold Dobbie to Palace the fee changed about 8 times , ranging between £350k to £1.5M before ending up as £850k.

2.5m or 4m? The likelihood is probably somewhere in the middle and dependent on add-ons, i.e. Sunderland stay in the league, number of appearances etc.
