Text of a newspaper clipping I saw this morning (looks like the Mail from the font but not 100% sure).

"PORTSMOUTH: CLARIFICATION
In his report on Portsmouth v Mansfield Town (Jan 20th, Ian Ridley stated that Portsmouth were paying Balram Chainrai £65,000 per month. We wish to clarify Chainrai was paid off in a lump sum of £3.45 million but the club are making a monthly loan repayment of about £120,000 until the summer of 2014 to Stuart Robinson".

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure our next accounts aren't going to make good reading but they really are something else aren't they? Where are they getting £120k a month for loan repayments from, never mind other running costs??

I hear they now owe £200,000 a month to Wonga.com

And some here think the Albion have got problems because we've sold a few players?

Right chums, I have a DILEMMA

Myself and two mates take it in turns to host a day out every 2/3 months or so. I've taken them to The Amex and for a curry and we've also been to St Marys

On 15th February, we have our next outing and the person responsible, is suggesting we take in Portsmouth v AFC Wimbledon. He's a Portsmouth fan and in complete denial of any problem, obviously.

Do I go?

Not really a dilemma, Hiney. You go, you support Wimbledon and chuckle as the skates head into non league oblivion where hopefully they will play LOOtown next season.

Of course - you'd want to be there when they lose to Wimbledon... at home. It might even drop them into the relegation places.

Agree, and insist on standing in the AWAY end.

Considering Palace are our proper rivals, it is quite remarkable how there is so much hatred for these utter cockwombling twats on here.

Not really surprising for those in West Sussex though is it. Here in the east they don't register but I imagine if you know a few Pompey fans then it'd feel different.

Undoubtedly. I used to live in Winchester, which is Southampton territory. Strangely though, it was smattering of Pompey pricks that stuck out as the biggest dicks, hence my intense dislike for said shite club. Conversely, nearly all Palace fans I've ever met I've actually quite liked. So whilst I enjoy beating them (and Southampton) more than any of the other clubs, I find myself wishing most ill on the skate wankers.

Living in Worthing we're safely inside the protective Albion bubble, but if you venture any farther West there used to be lots and lots of Chavvy Pompey scum about.

Littlehampton is very much a border town out here in the West; don't be fooled by the West Sussex postal addresses of places West of there - Chichester and Bognor were Pompey strongholds.

I'm not sure how it is now - I'd hope we're making huge gains in the West since our fates have gone in different directions.

One thing worth bearing in mind was that before the Palace 'thing' we hated Portsmouth FC a lot more and a lot longer. And to be honest, I still do. :)

My brother lives very close to Fratton Park (eeek, must be a rogue gene there!). Many of his wife's family are Pompey fans. A close friend of ours is a long time Pompey ST holder. Fortunately they are not gobby arrogant types but rather embarrassed at their fall from grace and prepared to admit it. They certainly don't have delusions of a divine right to be in the higher echelons. I do grudgingly admire their devotion to the cause even if I have no respect for how their Club was managed. Doesn't stop some mischievous banter though.

But to be fair they were generous when we lost The Goldstone and were homeless for years. They also admit it now makes things so much harder for them to watch our own recent rise from near oblivion, enjoying The Amex etc and having Saint Tony Bloom as our saviour, especially him being Albion royalty and not some unheard of foreign owner only interested in making a fast buck. They save their real contempt for their Hampshire neighbours.

I would agree with this. I grew up in Littlehampton and during their first spell in the Premier League, there seemed to be more Portsmouth fans than Brighton fans there. When I visit nowadays, this trend seems to have reversed.

And will have a little CHORTLE to myself as I look back to 10 years ago that very day, when Portsmouth were on their way to 13th place in the Premier League and getting a 1-1 draw at Liverpool in the 5th Round of the FA Cup, while AFC Wimbledon were battling to escape from The Combined Counties League.

Hilarious
