24th highest goal scorer for Brighton of ALL TIME. More than Murray & Forster.

I didn't know that !

He's been a great player for us, with his best years ahead of him.

I hope we have a decent sell on percentage, but at the end of the day we have 3 weeks to sell him or lose him for nothing ( or re-sign him !! )

A big thank you to Number 9... Ashley Barnes !!

True but without Murray and Dobbie they wouldn't even have made the playoffs, poor argument.

Palace fans were boasting about an automatic promotion spot for ages , don't forget they were 9 or 10 points ahead of us at one stage until they were reeled in and overtaken by us by the end of the season.

Give me strength. Of they would; they were top 3 when he arrived. He helped them drop 2 places. Palace would've finished top 6 with or without him.

So you don't see Barnes to Burnley as a bad move for the Albion, that's your prerogative but try respecting my opinion that is's a bad move IMO ?

I am a bit vague on this but without Dobbie's goals they would have finished outside the playoffs. So Murray go them up ther and Dobbie kept them up there. Shit business from the Albion on both fronts IMO.

If he hadn't scored them then someone else would have. And what about all of Dobbie's misses that cost them points when they couldn't buy a win from March until May? The fact that they were crap during the season and then managed to win the playoffs shows what a negative impact he had.

I have heard that there is a replacement on the way to being lined up, signing from La Liga in Spain for roughly £1 million.

Please explain?

Can you not see that we have spent £5m on Ulloa and CMS in the search to replace Murray plus their higher wage packets than Murray?

How is that mental.

Also Letter two central defenders go for not much who are now regular championship starters, how is that a good idea?

Poor management of the squad which will cost us lots of £...... In the long run.

Paying a player a little bit more to keep him rather than shelling out loads trying to replace them is stupid

Bit of an insult to Upson to say we signed him to replace Elphick & Cook. He is a class above and elAbd & Greer were already ahead of them in the pecking order (as was Dunk for that matter). Ergo, getting their wages off the book when they had almost no hope of playing was good business.

As for CMS/Ulloa to replace Murray, I will give you one of the two but not both....you could just as legitimately say that one of them replaced Woods or Vokes or even Barndoor Billy

Yes letting Murray go was bad business though how avoidable it was deoends on whose version of events you accept. Clearly in near identical circumstances we have learnt with Barnes and cashed in while we could. I regret his going but it is as sound in a business sense as Murray was ill-judged.

I'm pissed off about Barnes but players do have power when they're coming to the end of their contract. With Murray, none of us really know how much effort we put into keeping him but Elphick isn't good enough for a top Championship team.

Cook might be now but he wasn't good enough then to be a regular first team player and apparently wanted first team football. He was out of contract at the end of the season and if it had gone to tribunal, we might have got a worst deal. Also, if he signed a new contract, he probably wouldn't have developed as much as he has so he needed to move.

Doesn't really matter whether you're vague on it or not. The fact is that Holloway was responsible for nearly taking Palace out of the play offs altogether. Dobbie didn't keep them up there more than any other player. Someone else would have scored the goals. The fact is that Murray has been excellent for them and Dobbie was given to them because we didn't rate him. I think Barnes going to Burnley says more about what we think about Burnley than Barnes. IE he's too good for them. They won't go up. And with or without him we'll end up above them.

The name I've heard, and please understand that this comes complete with a pinch of salt, is this one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Stuani

He's at Espanyol at present, who are financially up shit creek with no paddle and a hole in the canoe. Guillem Balague was talking on Revista de la Liga last week about how anyone with a few quid could basically knock on the door and have their pick. We shall see...

Now this is the sort of thing I do want to hear about. Can you give us any other information?

Edit: just seen your next post.
