How many points will Palace get this season?

Ditto, and they seem to be labouring under the mistaken belief that they'll return to the Championship next season as big time Charlie's and walk straight back into the Premiership. This belief completely ignores the psychological devastation they will encounter as this season progresses and they become the laughing stock and whipping boys of the Premiership. They could very well fall straight through the Championship next year - or have to face several seasons of distinct mediocrity (eg Derby) as they come to terms with their humiliation.

True. Very true.

Next year could be just as grim for the Jestermen.

Watching the play off Dvd over and over again is keeping me smiling and out ways the pain im suffering so far I can assure you,Obviously It's hard seeing us doing so badly but having been there in the prem at your expense is something that we'll hold over you even if we lose every game in the prem.

:amex: Theatre of Palace dreams:thumbsup:

How very sad!

If I'd thought for a minute that we would be as completely out of our depth as you are this season I would have been quite happy to have lost the playoff game and stay in the Championship. However I think we'd have done at least as well as Cardiff and Hull but the Poyet fall out would have made it that much more difficult.

It hurt, but it was one game. 40 odd games of being the laughing stock of the top division, shown on tv every weekend, could never make up for winning one game if the situation had been reversed.

Do you watch this DVD every Saturday evening after you have lost?

Here watch this - it's the most important match played between the two clubs - ever!

No only when I want to cheer myself up :) its a great watch, and will be forever and ever:) nothing any Brighton fan says can take that fact away.

You may well be right Icy but like I've said on other threads you lot wrote us off way before we smashed your dreams at the Amex in the play off's and yes It's hard to watch us getting beat but how many times have we been beaten heavily?
Still a long way to go,I havent given up hope yet, It was always going to be tough but it's better to have been there than never at all eh:p.

Like last year just incase the impossible happens all these Palace down threads have been saved so I can gloat and get banned again.

Eagles flop in top flight

Lovely piece in the Daily Mirror today by Derek McGovern -

:ffsparr: How bad are Crystal Palace? Well, here's a clue - they're below Sunderland. Here's another. they are thinking of changing their nickname from the Eagles to Eddie the Eagles.

The South Londoners have just 3 points from 10 games and people are saying they could be worse than the Derby team who notched a record low of 11 points in 2007-08.

If memory serves, I think they went down. Caretaker boss Keith Millen has told the players to ignore the league table "because you don't get relegated in November" and he's right. At this rate it will be December.

Palace are on course for a season long haul of 11 points so you will be interested to learn that bookies bet365 are offering 25-1 for them to notch 10 points or fewer. That's a sickener for Eagles fans. Another is that Chris Coleman is odds on to be their new manager.

The Palace salary is rumoured to be just £500k a year, which works out at £10,000 per week. But when you throw in a bonus of £1 million for avoiding relegation, that works out at £10,000 a week

Palace have been hilariously bad this season, they are starting to look like a lauging stock and we're not even at christmas yet, I suppose they have Everton Hull and Norwich next, they need 4 points from those 3 otherwise I really think the Derby record could be broken.

Not sure that is true, not from my perspective anyway. I hoped we'd beat you and I thought we had a decent chance, at no stage did I expect it though and I certainly didn't write you off. I never REALLY got into that 2nd play off semi I have to confess, at no stage were we on top and the game was very finally balanced before Zaha eventually showed what all the fuss was about...sadly

Anyway that was then this is now, I make a point of watching MOTD these days :lolol:

I don't remember much about Derby's record season. Did they get a lot of sympathy from neutrals/TV or were they the subject of ridicule? I'm sure as brighton fans we'd take delight in Palace's form, but will we have to suffer commentators and pundits talking about plucky palace or brave palace or unfortunate palace?
