Blimey, have Leeds sacked Brian McDermott already?

This IS Gus Poyet we're talking about, he loves them, they love him. If he makes himself available Mc Dermott will be back on gardening leave.

You do post some crap, but this is the stupidest crap.

"special relationship with the Leeds supporters". He was only there for a year for God's sake. Terrible behaviour. Please go then Gus.

How do you cope in a transfer window every time a rumour comes up regarding one of our players leaving?

You must be an emotional MESS.

It's amazing isn't it? As I said. Worst analogy in quite a while.

I wonder if he has a contract with his girlfriend ? Does he get a sex rise each year if he performs well the previous year ?

I wish he would keep his views on wanting to manage elsewhere to himself.

Or apply for those jobs and leave.

The reassuring thing is that when we do eventually need a new manager, we don't have to sell the club to any applicants, they have to sell themselves to us.
We would have plenty of top quality managers knocking down the Chairman's door to take over at The Amex and all that goes with it.

Until then we continue our exciting ride on the Gus Bus.

If the Palace manager carried on like this everyone on here would find it hilarious and go on about how tin pot it made them look. Just because it is Gus, people defend it.

You can't blame the journalists for asking the questions, but Gus does not HAVE to answer them in the way he does.

So why hasn't he applied for these jobs, such as Leeds then?

Not really on option for Gus, as the compensation was a problem for Leeds.

If Gus can give us 2 more years, or 3 if we get to the Europa League, I'd be very happy, and really it would be job done here for him then.

It does piss me off. Wish he would just keep his mouth shut. He is a very good manager but he is not bigger than the club. I would swap Gus for Mcdermott yesterday

But isn't it refreshing to see someone that's honest?

People complain one week that managers answers are monotone and far too media-trained. Gus then speaks his mind and people don't like it.

Far too precious. He's not going to be our manager forever. This IS just a job.

Why shouldn't he say that he would like to manage Leeds one day? why? what's the downside of it? Do the team play worse? No.

I don't know about you, but I find the scenario that Palace's manager said how he was devoted the club he loved, then within a week jumped ship for a higher salary, MUCH funnier than the one with Poyet.

Because it is Gus it is seen as being honest and therefore something we should celebrate.

Honesty is indeed important. But so is respect. Respect for your employer and the fans who idolise you.

Gus can be honest without saying how much he would love to manager other clubs and how special his relationship with their fans was.

I appreciate his honesty but I do find the flirting with previous clubs pretty tiring.

Maybe it's all part of an ongoing mental poker game with Tony Bloom to free up transfer funds, or improved personal terms ... I have no idea. As a mere fan I find it a bit unsettling. We all know that players and managers move on eventually but while they're here we want to believe their heart is 100% in BHA.

Basically, this.
