Yeah, I was starting to worry that they might manage some sort of jammy escape, but Manish Bhasin said on the FL Show last night that the ten points would be taken off as soon as they come out of admin, which they have to do or be expelled from the league.

I believe the technical term for this is "a win-win scenario".

Didn't the courts give them an extension, allowing them until the summer?

More conflicting information on February 21st when it is widely reported that the PST has to complete the takeover before next season's fixture list is compiled. I think they changed the deadline, because the courts kept delaying the date they would hear the case about the sale of fratton park, which I believe is pivotal in the takeover being successful and/or the club coming out of administration (I'm sure someone else can clarify). It would probably be deemed unfair if the FA demanded the sale being complete and administration exited before he courts had ruled, so they extended the deadline.

And then just as they have got themselves out of relegation trouble in League Two, they go into admin again.

Fingers crossed for the win-win and even a third win if yes they do go into admin yet again in L2........ poor fans but the club have not cut costs sensibly but gambled again and again. Won't be long till they on the way down, pass where they would have been in the football league pyramid (yet on a rise) if they'd just folded and restarted as a fan's club. Sooner that happens the better I think!

I think the FA have already set a precedent, but I can't remember the case (it may have even been Portsmouth!!). Basically the deduction is awarded the following season if the club were going to get relegated anyway. This is because deducting the points after a club is relegated really does not constitute a penalty.

Leeds? Southampton? Actually, I think it was Saints, when they were relegated down to League 1. They definitely started on minus points that first season down there with us.
