The fans that sung such songs (those who were there know, those who weren't can guess) are a f***ing embarrassment to this club, more so than anything that could happen on the pitch. Not going to name names but included some quite prolific posters on here.

I really feel this warrants a thread to make it clear that, wherever we are as a club, some things are quite rightly below us.

It was one song sung by less than 10 of us that didn't catch on, which was probably a good thing. Tensions in the away end at that stage were all over the place following such a shit performance and the antics on the touchline. If I or my dad offended you by joining in or you felt embarrassed then I shall apologise but it's football at the end of the day. Banter sometimes can go too far.

I was saying to my Wednesday mate that I was pleased the away end did not contribute to the shit Jones has to put up with. Frankly anyone singing that should take a long hard look at themselves. Thankfully the vast majority of the Albion support had more common decency.

Whatever happened to free speech? and if they paid their money they can sing what they like and who made you the administrator of what can be sung

Oh yeah. Free speech - that noble tradition that scoundrel always fall back on in order to defend their right to abuse, hurt or humiliate innocent people who have become the focus of their loathsome attentions. Evelyn Hall / Voltaire clearly had exactly this sort of situation in mind.

1. Before his managerial career, Dave Jones works in a care home.

2. An allegation is made in subsequent years about child abuse against an employee / poor practice in care home.

3. Police then use 'trawling' methods where they interview former residents about the employees, telling them they suspect abuse has taken place, and inviting them to make allegations.

4. Former residents think they might get some compensation, or are tricked into thinking they may have been abused there (amazing what the power of suggestion combined with false memory can do) and go along and make allegations.

5. Innocent people are put on trial.

I was right in the middle of the away end and heard no chants aimed at Dave Jones, so if there were any sung, it was not by many people and couldnt have been very loud. If i couldn't hear it, theres not much chance DJ actually heard it from the dugout, so lets not go getting offended and highlighting it on his behalf.

IMHO "free speech" has never been the right to accuse innocent people of the most horrible and socially abhorrent crimes.

Fair enough if people didn't hear it, I thought it was quite loud but didn't get going for long before a lot of Brighton fans turned around and shut them up. Not trying to get offended on anyone's behalf, just as a Brighton fan I never want to be in an away end when shit like that is being sung, and would have thought most people agreed with me. If not, sorry.

It is a shame when people chant such things.

The allegations were completely false and it should never have. been brought to court. Also the distress put on Jones's family was a big factor in the death of his father.

Nice to see you understand that such chanting is wrong and unfair. Unlike alot of other supporters.

I've already seen one comment on this site that could see legal action.
