Like it or loathe it or somewhere in between, this is the level playing field everybody fought for all those years. The club's in the hands of the big boys now, they do what they want. Or at least they do while the club's on the upswing and JCLs and people in blazers strut around in lanyards.Brave new world for sure! It'll be a different story if, heaven forbid, we should ever drop a division from here on in. The only (very minor) upside to that would be that the Albion Faithful wouldn't have to kick around the stadium for an hour after the game while the JCLs clog the limited transport options to be first to piss off home.

If you're really upset about GG going then make a banner saying "Save Our Gullys Girls" rather than "Barber Out". Personally I like the Girls (ahem !)

I think you've got to give someone a chance - by all means let Barber know your grievances through the proper channels before demanding individuals are sacked.

In respect of the price of season tickets - mine works out at something like £23 a league game with travel thrown in and one of the best views (WSU - South End) in the best stadium in the country. Outstanding value.

Half a days pay for us paupers, perhaps live football isn't for the likes of me.

Sad really, I enjoy it.

That's the price of all live shows now though
Most gigs down Concorde 2 are around £20
If you see any gig down the Brighton centre your looking at £35
Trouble is to see your favourite live bands you'd go to around 5 gigs a year
With the Albion your looking at 23 games a year so yes it does become expensive
But in reflection of going to gigs & The Theatre the Albion pricing is fair

If Bloom came out and said "sorry chaps, I've got pay for the stadium somehow" do you reckon that would justify all of Barber's action except for Gully's Girls?

One thing is for sure, because of our history, Albion fans will keep a close eye on Mr Barber's activities and if enough fans feel aggrieved by his decisions, then he will feel the wrath of what Brighton fans can achieve. For now, the jury is out. Lets wait and see.

Exactly this.

But saying that i am already leaning towards the 'Barber out' campaign.

Ultimately the fans power is we can get this bloke sacked if we feel like it. We have the absolute power.

As much as I'd like to think you're right, the sad fact is that this is not our 'little old Albion' that we fought for so many years to save. Might not be quite so easy to remove an undesirable as it used to be.

We are a community football club, not a corporate cash cow.

If we become a corporate, plastic, soulless club who doesn't give a shite about its loyal fanbase, then I literally will start going to Whitehawk games instead. Sadly the more we settle in to our beautiful new stadium, the more it looks like this will be the case.
you guys catch on quick:facepalm:

A disgraceful decision by Mr Barber of BHAFC to axe Gully's Girls.

If you bothered to check you would see all the work they did and supported the REMF games for years on end, without pay, because they wanted to support the Charity. A shameful decision and Jo Wilson in particular has every right to feel very pissed off.

They also wanted to donate all of the profits from the Gully's Girls 2012 calender to the REMF as it is a cause they believed in and wanted to support. This made over £ 600 profit for the REMF.

Your decision means Gully's Girls will not be at REMF 12.

Do some research Mr Barber before you make decisions for us !

100% behind you on this one US.

there is a balance in football between corperatism and communitarianism, Barber doesnt have it and needs to go imo.

I like your post, however I would suggest that the time period that we wait and see should be fairly short.

Personally I really don't care too much about the actual loss of GGs on match days, however I do appreciate what they have done for REMF and AITC etc, and just to get shot of them like this, is pretty poor.

I am more concerned about:

Selling match day tickets, highest priced ones first.
Generally high prices for match by match tickets.
Charging booking fee per ticket, not per transaction on auto enrol cup scheme.
Rejection out of hand of Safe Standing.
AITC having to make a profit at all coaching sessions (allegedly)
Issues with standing in the NS, Perry seems to have backtracked on his comments at the ST presentations that this would be allowed in the back 4 rows, and Barber wants the fans to sit down and shut up.
No concessions for Students, unemployed or under 21s (to be fair to Barber, since we moved from Withdean the old U21 has been withdrawn.)

I really don't think he's stupid. And that's what he would have to be if he withdraws the DD on the ST.

Summed up very well. If he or other board members take a step too far, then they might as well rename the stadium as there'll be nothing 'Community' about it.

I don know anybody who has a problem with ST prices or the DD system to pay for them.

Neither were decided by Barber. That will come next season, and prices will only be determined once we know what division we are in.

have I missed a trick or is it still the case that nobody has actually said what has happpened with gullys girls and if they continue as a gang? The debate is interesting but I am still unclear what facts it is based on.

As for price whilst I accept that we are top end it does seem to reflrct what the market will bear. God knows I would love it to be cheaper but I think T soprano makes the point fairly and well by relating it to orher not disimilar entertainments

So Championship prices it is then-we just need to know what that price will be.

Whatever his reasons - and sad as it was - Barber was right to get rid of Gully's Girls in its current guise. Either do it professionally or don't do it at all.

IMO its the match day ticket prices, and the policy of selling the most expensive first that grates.

It will be interesting to see how the club intend to fill the north stand corners when they're ready.
