Er, I did click the link and then I tried to view the image but I was asked to register. I'm not registering on a Palace forum.

Now somebody get the picture and upload it so I can SEE it

He's a good player. But I think they're getting a little carried away with it all now, and for the club to bring out a poster saying "he's just too good for you" just about crosses the line from promoting the club in a positive way, to outright arrogance.

Its one thing for the fans to chant it, thats all part of the banter. But for the club to commission posters proclaiming it ?? Hmmm. Put it this way, I'd be uncomfortable if the Albion started promoting thier players with that kind of tagline. Its just setting him up for a fall (not that it takes much, mind).

Nice poster campaign - classy.

Not sure what the message is though.

Also there's no branding whatsoever.

If the poster is aimed at attracting new fans it will surely fail on account of not actually telling anyone anything.

If it is aimed solely at existing fans, what's the point?

Looks like a bit of marketing to me, setting him up for a sale is how I see it.

The one above was a mock-up by one of the Palace directors apparently... the real thing looks like this...

"I wonder how long it'll be until we start singing he's just too good for you and the oppposition sing it back at us!"

Er, how about never?

Oh, so he's just too good for Palace - make's sense. Sort of announcing that he's off in 12 or so weeks.

That's not the actual poster, that's a Photoshop mock up. The real one is this one:

I don't know much about Palace players. Is it Zaha? Perhaps it's red because an Arsenal fan has put it up there - it's a message from Arsenal to Palace?

edit: now I've seen the proper one it seems it's a message from the Palace board to their fans. That's no way to treat your support.

Seems like a bit of a tinpot goading exercise, a bit like 'Welcome to Manchester' with Tevez. And it seems to be working?
