Hove (actually)
Hicks, Cook, Barker - all much missed geniuses. Chris Morris is as close as we have to that status now.

Best of the rest - Skinner, Boyle, Lee.

Got to give Al Murray (ten years ago) some credit, as well as Hugh Dennis.. even though NO ONE agrees with the latter. :)

I can't really narrow it down to one, but this list should give you some idea: Ronnie Barker, Billy Connolly, Dara O Briain, Ed Byrne, Simon Evans, Victoria Wood, Stewart Francis, George Carlin, Rowan Atkinson

Lee Evans

Those three are the ones I have seen live who made me laugh the most.

<< Steven Wright. Sometimes thought-provoking, often nonsensical, always brilliant.

Honourable mention to the late Mitch Hedburg. Oh and Neil Hamburger. Some people loathe him but if you get it and you like what you get he is a an absolute joy. I also like the guy who plays the northern chap who plays the shit electric organ and tells stories but I can never, ever remember his name.

Peter Kay used to be genuinely hilarious, esp in Phoenix Nights. That was before he started wearing a dress and doing comedy relief bollocks.

Ah that's Stewart Francis. I cannot abide him. He looks so uncomfortable yet strangely self satisfied.
Agreed, I find his delivery makes him really difficult to watch. Like an awfully cheesy, smug version of Steven Wright - with the material a little more based on wordplay.

The late Mitch Hedberg, on the other hand.
