I'm not doubting how far we've come, for the record. But anyone defending Gus for walking out with 5 minutes to go as if thats OK needs to have a look at themselves.

Nobody is defending it.

But people such as yourself (initially) calling for his sacking are the ones who need to have a word with yerselves.

IF. More to the point he should be given the opportunity to explain himself. If he walked off to avoid any confrontation and further trouble from the FA, or to make a point about the standard of officiating then fair enough. It's just typical that the keyboard warriors, who weren't at the game, kick off without all the facts.

And i hope he does explain, if i was a player and the game was in the balance i would want my manager barking out orders and encouragement from the sidelines not pissing off down the tunnel. I love Gus and he has done so well here but he does have that knack of completely losing the plot sometimes.

I am genuinely staggered. One can only assume these morons saying Gus should be fired weren't around when losing was what we did almost every week. Get a f***ing grip, people, we're sixth in the Championship in our first season in it. When Gus took over, we were something like 20th in League One. But yeah, he's a useless manager :jester:

Very true, but to be fair he has had more money available for fees and wages than probably any Albion manager in the last 25 years. He did very well last year and has done well again this year, but to say that without hime we would still be at the foot of league 1 or worse is ridiculous. Without Tony Bloom's backing none of this would have happened, Gus has been a big part of our sucess but for me it's Bloom that deserves all the praise.

When Gus walked off, with only seconds to go, from where I was standing at the back to one side, as far as I could see the whole away end was standing and applauding him off. He had a wry smile, and acknowledged our support, and applauded us in return.

He has a second in command, he has a captain, and a team of adults - they don't need Daddy to pat their heads ...

Burnley were uncomfortable with our possession football, and as we have seen on other occasions, got drawn in to just kicking the legs out of our players.

There were at least 4 handballs by Burnley, clear for all of us to see, which the ref might have seen, but anyway just waved play on, for three of the four.

We created a number of chances, hit the post skimmed the bar. Just one of those days when shots didn't quite find the hole in the defense, or passes quite reach the final striker.

Still 15 more points to play for, and the fact remains that from the viewpoint of this time two years ago, we're in dreamland.

We might still hit the playoffs, would be great to get to the final, and as miracle can happen, might win the lottery and get promoted - but how many potential or actual Premier League players do we have on the books, or waiting in the wings.

We could do worse than enjoy a great season in which we have done much better than most would have expected of us; next season could then be more seriously aimed at building a prospective Premier League team with real prospects.

Keep the faith! Keep supporting all the good work that has gone into getting us where we are in the table, and in our brilliant new home. See you at Barnsley, hopefully with a reason to chase the points!

Gus is Rafa benitez in disguise. Hasn't a f***ing clue what his best team is or how to win a match. Please Orient, take him from us.

Don't you just love the school holidays?

Jesus, I have to agree with the line up/subs being a little suspect bu EVERYBODY was crying for him to try something different! Yes, walking off before the end of the game is not acceptable but calling for him a ****, calling for him to be sacked? f*** me...
For what it's worth I think we play far to negatively with the attacking talent we have but Gus plays his way and we are SIXTH in the Championship because of it! Sack him? Grow up!

Zego is spot on. Went to the game. We played well. All that Burnley were interested in doing was winding us up. Think Gus walked off to stop himself getting into trouble at the end. The Ref was pathetic, allowing Burnley to waste time. At one stage one of their players was rolling around the pitch a couple of foot from the touchline. The ref didn't try to get him off the pitch, just allowed them to spoil the game. The atmosphere outside the ground summed things up, very volatile with lots of arguing between Brighton and Burnley fans. Bad day but not a bad performance.

By the way, Humbug, you are a kno*, F*** off.

Far too sensible a post for this thread

We're still 6th, we'll need to win four of the remaining games. Disappointed tonight, but we live to fight another day.

Should have added, we do have some strange fans. After about 15 mins Reyes gave the ball away, a fan behind me shouts, 'Get off Reyes, off, off, off'. Fans are meant to support their team for Christ sake.

I'm not entirely convinced he's a Brighton fan.
