If we show we are willing to let players go, aren't players more likely to sign for us, since they'll see we aren't going to treat them like possessions and only concern ourselves with what we get out of them, regardless of what they want? Cardiff are currently third and their last six game form is better than the top two. They are more likely to have the opportunity of promotion this year than us. If we stop a player from taking an opportunity to make a step up, even if we as fans see it as a small step up, won't players see coming to us as a dead end? Even if we make it to the premier league, we still won't be seen by most players as the ultimate goal in their careers, they will want to know we won't stand in their way should they feel a move is best for their career.

How about we give them 750k and Vicente they give us Chopra.

Then we would be the team challenging for promotion? Just think how happy they would be with a quality 30 year old with a great track record.

And the club need to demonstrate that they WILL hold-on to their best players, or good players will NOT want to join us

I just cannot see this happening unless Cardiff come back with silly money (ie £1m +), whch they don't have. And I seriously doubt Earnshaw would tip the scales for Gus to be interested.

Gus raves about Noone, there's absolutely no way he would want to lose him, let along to a rival Championship club. Noone seems happy and settled, and a move to Cardiff would certainly not be a significant step up in his career.

Every player has his price of course, but we are not a selling club living hand-to-mouth any more.

No deal.

If the club sell Noone i can see Gus seriously getting the hump.....he has allready bemoaned his budget within this tranny window as being greatly reduced....and see's noone as the jewell in his crown....what would it say to players like cms and our other top players who have been sold the dream if we let our best players go to rival champ club.....if cardiff get promotion different story like the bennett situ with Norwich...Set your price but only allow players to go to clubs who are in the league above us not competing against us.....Fair play if Dunk goes to prem club for a bootl load of cash thats progression....If we are as ambitious as is reported you don't sell your best players to a rival club in the same division.....

For all any of us know Gus might be happy to sell him to raise funds for another player.

All depends on who is brought in as a replacement. I cant see for one minute that if Noone goes it wont be with a green light from Gus.

We have a surplus of left wingers when fit. 750k is a good amount of money and Earnshaw is a proven second tier striker.

I'd be disappointed to see Noone leave but it wouldn't be the worst deal in the world. Hope it doesn't happen though.

Has been a proven second tier striker is the correct desciption
