That may be because the club moved them due to their attire. People have been getting in with trainers, but the staff are trying to stop it, and sending some of the fans to other seats, that happened to a couple of guys we met up with yesterday.

Never mind one twat in the 1901, There were still about a thousand empty, ie. wasted seats that genuine fans who can't get a season ticket could have used last night. And some of them may even have stayed to see Palace equalise.

It's early days and the club need to make rules and stick to them (they clearly didn't want to through everyone out on the first day). I was in the 1901 for the liverpool game, and I dressed smartly (which was some effort for me). I was surprised how poorly dressed some people were. But those who were thrown out were given seats elsewhere, so I can't see the harm.

To be clear, the club should:
1) Clarify the rules (ie, decide if collars are really important)
2) Stick to them

I don't think common sense should come into it, because other fans would see them in a collarless shirt, and next week do the same, but maybe not be as smart overall = confusion. So are you seriously suggesting that all the businesses that took up 1901 seats should only be allowed to bring Brighton supporting clients to matches because otherwise they will deprive Brighton supporters of a seat? You and many others Albion supporters have joined up to 1901 but you need to remember its primary clientele is Corporate customers, of whom many and their clients dont really care about Brighton.

Of course I do agree that he shouldnt have celebrated.

That's a separate issue. You could do a petition, if everyone in 1901 thinks the dress code should be changed, get a list of names and hand it to the club. Personally, I wouldn't have a dress code there at all, but then I'm not the target market for those seats. But if there is a dress code, they need to be consistant. No point allowing trainers in one week, and not the next, because people will continually turn up wearing the wrong thing, and half of them will be turned away. Clarify the rules and stick to them = everyone knows where they stand and no one gets turned away. You just wouldn't turn up if you knew for a fact that you'd be turned away.

It's the nature of the beast in that sort of environment - some people will bring colleagues and clients etc, particularly if they have an interest in the visiting team. There's scarcely an away game where someone doesn't post on here about being in a hospitality area through some connection or other and, beyond that, Albion fans often take advantage of paid-for corporate facilities at grounds when they are available.

And I'm sure I've read several instances of such folk talking about how they celebrated an Albion goal and/or victory whilst "on enemy turf", which usually gets the "good on you mate" type responses.

It hurts because Palace matters. Just move on.

If you buy into the CONCEPT of the 1901 as a necessary evil, or even if you just think it's a great idea full stop, I don't think you can get too shirty about who's in there. It's not about who is deprived of a seat. It's about who the people paying big money want to take. It doesn't sit easy with me, but that is the nature of the beast.

Curbing excessive celebrations is reasonable - but even that is a grey area and subject to abitrary personal views. If I had been sitting next to a Palace fan last night when Nos2 and 3 went in and he had closed his eyes and offered up a silent prayer I'd still have wanted him out.

I understand and accept all of that. However when I have done something similar (gone in the home end) I sat there quite quiet and didn't jump around like a complete buffoon. That's why I'm cross. No bloody respect. And yes it does hurt more because it's Palace, I didn't react at all when a Leeds fan made strange noises. But that said the guy bringing the Palace fan and the fan himself should realise that it is more likely to cause offence than just any other fan. I may calm down in a day or two.

Don't be ridiculous, he may have been a close friend or relative. If I was in that club and had a spare ticket for the Watford game for example, I would far rather let my WFC supporting nephew have it than let it go to an Albion fan I didn't know.

My wife could not attend last night so I look my Palce supporting mate instead. We sat in our normal seats in the East, he knew he had to keep quiet.
