I like the bit about the "reality check"... Sure, we were surprised we went to P*lace but money and an overwhelming lack of ambition talks. Sure, we were sad to see him leave. At least until we signed CRAIG MAKAIL-SMITH.

Now, I am 100% certain that we have a better player as our star forward and I am delighted to see that now he has his 3-year contract at P*lace, he's missed most of their opening games! Pity...

"Just to the left behind the goal there was a bloke telling him to "f*ck off back to Brighton" on his debut."

Erm, no thanks. I'd completely forgotten about that lazy, money grabbing twat. I know we lack a bit of height upfront but is anyone even close to missing Glenn Murray?

The team we have now , as good as he was last year he just wouldn't fit in anymore. He'd be like a rusty old escort engine in a shiney new Audi. We've moved on and improved. Palace are welcome to him , about their level / style

Gus is reported as saying we are looking for a "Striker with presents" (here we go more Xmas gags) would that not have been Glen Murray if he hadn't gone?

I miss him but the club seems a better place without him!

Glad to read the Palace fans have welcomed him with open arms, what a knob for going there in the first place.

He is still a quality player though. Admittedly Poyet seemed to bring the best out of him last season, but he certainly has bags of skill and wouldn't look out of place in most championship sides. I for one won't forget the huge contribution he made last season, both in attack and defending.

He'll either bounce back from this injury and be a decent striker for palace, just not sure their style of play will suit him that much. I still think he'd have a lot to give in our current side as he can simply make a goal out of nothing if he's in that frame of mind. Which is the crucial thing with Glenn, will Freedman be able to do what poyet did and keep him in that frame of mind.

it's probably the realisation that they are paying over the odds for a league 1 player, the 1 player that all there hopes rest on,iit makes me laugh that they are giving it all the he chose Brighton over us, but seriously if they were honest and compared CMS and Murray there is no contest, I can't wait until the end of the season when CMS, Barnes and maybe Hoskins (depending on starts) have scored more goals than Murray, Palace have pinned all there hopes on one player, we've got so many exciting players.

So, ostensibly to support a player who's been known to throw massive sulks - as at Brentford - at the slightest joking reference by fans to his personal life, those nerdy little schoolkids are singing "He used to be gay but now he's OK" at him??!?

Oh boy. Stand well back. This is going to make Leon Knight's antics seem like that of a model professional.

We missed him badly in the first half against Donny. We just couldn't keep the ball because CMS is not as good at shielding the ball as Murray was. Since then, I don't think CMS has been put in a position where he is expected to act like a target man so we haven't missed him at all. Even as a back up strikers, he'd be a waste of wages and probably sulking for not being in the starting XI by now.

Will El Abd be fit by then I wonder to give Murray a "special" welcome on behalf of us fans ?

Glenda's tenure at Palace has all the makings of a very expensive flop, and one that is bound to end up on all sides in acrimony.

It really couldn't be happening to a nicer club.

What would be the best scenario in the game at the Amex next month is for him to be on the bench, then get brought on with 5 mins to go and the game 3-0 to us,.... the jeers will be deafening..... we could sing "he used to be OK, now he's just gay" if we wanted to be infantile about it.

What you lot seem to miss is that this was a great business deal for Palace. Sign him for nothing, pay inflated wages for a short period, then after the've pissed him off sell him for at least half a million.
Credit where its due.

I heard he will be back around the start of October. Hopefully he'll try as hard as he can to get back a week erlier though.

Im sure this is all the motivation El Abd needs, the chance to shake Murray warmly by the throat, sorry hand, I mean hand.

If his attitude were okay :)rolleyes:) I'd take him back like a shot.

Of course CMS is a better player, but the two together would be superb.
