Madeleine went missing on the 3rd of May 2007 when she was nearly 4. Today little Madeleine is now 8 and the McCann's are today calling on PM David Cameron to re-launch the search for their daughter.

Kate and Gerry McCann today call on David Cameron to re-launch the search for Maddie | The Sun |News

Not that I have read the story in The Sun but you do get the impression that maybe the Portuguese Police didn't do that good of a job at the time. The sad thing is that as so many years have now passed the trail is stone cold. I'm not sure quite what they hope to achieve but you can't blame them for trying.

At least her parents have behaved in a dignified manner and not tried to cash in with a book and numerous media appearances this week after the mysterious disappearance of their daughter.

Am I being unduly cynical in noting the timing of this request has coincided with the launch of Kate McCann's book "Madelaine"?

What about the 100's of other girls and boy missing? Will they ask the PM to "re-open" the search for them?

Maddie is no less nore more important than any other missing child.

So really what you are saying is that the authorities, government etc should just leave the case and hope that one day she comes home?

There's part of me that would like to see Cameron turn round and say: "She's dead and, since you ask, I'll have that 4 years of child benefit back as well."

You are hilarious, and getting more hilarious each week. Well done.

I could be wrong but in fairness to the McCanns they probably need any money that can make to fund their efforts to find their daughter, I don't consider what they're doing to be cynical.

Are you really that cynical that you think they're "cashing in ", to be honest I expected better from you.

Why on earth would they write the book in the first place? It's not as if they have not had hundreds of opportunities to get their message across to their media chums already over the last four years.

If it had been a family from the scrag end of Brighton and the mother had not been lens and microphone friendly MILF this story would have disappeared without trace.

Tough though it must be, isn't it time for them to try and move on?

All a sacrificial ritual. The (aristocratic) parents are in on it.

Been in the news for years because the more emotional energy it receives the stronger the ritual.

keep reading the sun people and don't study anything on your own....rely on the mainstream media....stay asleep, shop, work, love sport.....etc etc

:)

The reason she has bought out a book is too simply get more money in the pot to continue the search for their daughter. God knows where the poor little girl went too, or what has happened to her. I dread to think. There are so many sickos in this world.
