I`ve always thought it sad that Crawley is in the lovely county of Sussex. Still dont know why the border cant be bent round a little bit.

There may be a few for whom the knee-jerk response to the draw is to consider it. But once they've had a moment's reflection – assuming there's an ounce of Albion in them – they'll decide there's nowhere you could possibly be but Stoke.

With all its attractions. :jester:

No.

When we were desperate for a ground, before Gillingham stepped in, Crawley told us to F off. Never forgotten that.

On a pedantic note, I don't think it was the club who told us where to go, more likely the council.

even though I work in Crawley, the answer is NO!"

Hmm I was expecting a bit of flack!

I have been an Albion fan for donkeys years, a season ticket holder & have bought my season ticket at Falmer. Got my 15 year old one too.
And no he hasn't been to Old Trafford. When was the last time we played there?

So there is an opportunity to support another SUSSEX club.
Like it or not Crawley are in Sussex!
Remember Bognor in the FA Cup a few years agp against league opposition?
Was there too.

How can folk hate Crawley?
There is no rivalry?
Palace, Pompey etc yes...but Crawley no way!!

This morning Radio 5 was banging on about two Sussex clubs in the FA Cup etc etc. This is good news for both clubs & the sleeping county of Sussex in general.

So may I suggest that we look at Crawley as a younger brother?
At times an irritance but at the end of the day you love them not hate them!

Try?

In fact the only good by-product of any Crawley success is that it might lessen support for Palace.

Of course it would be an amazing thing if they won, they won't obviously, but deep down I just cannot really give a shit how any team does other than us. I can't really even summon the effort to wish bad things against our so-called local rivals. It's just about the Albion for me and I'm quite happy that way.

No, I'm not.

Just imagine if we got relegated (unlikely now, thank goodness!) and were in the same division as them next season. Would we be cheering them on as the other team in Sussex? Not bloody likely - so why now? I hope the FDM plays a blinder though, and keeps the score down with some epic saves.

I'm glad so many others hate them with a passion. Just imagine what it's like for us living in Horsham having to put up with them just down the road.

And let's not forget they've bought their success this season and we certainly shouldn't suddenly forget the shame they've heaped on Sussex football over the last few years with their off-field behaviour. It's so wrong that a team that has had to go into administration and has had points docked 3 seasons running is still allowed to carry on like this. It's completely unsustainable with 2000 fans max and hopefully it will end in tears.

This is a tie that every single one of us non-league fans dreams of and for me they haven't earned it. So many other clubs conduct themselves so much better and struggle to keep going and try their hardest and yet Crawley are the ones who get the plum tie. Just shows how unfair it all is!

So personally I hope they get thrashed and do something to bring more disgrace on theselves at a national level. And then I hope the money men quit and they sink quickly without trace and let those real Crawley fans who have been there for years rebuild a team they ca be proud of and call their own once again. Finally I would like to see common sense prevail and for someone to change the county boundary so they are no longer a Sussex town. Problem is I can't see Surrey wanting to accept them either!

I would urge any Brighton fan not going to Stoke to go and watch their own nearst non-league team rather than make the trip to Manchester. Show you really care about Sussex football.

I'll be there :)

Having supported Crawley since 1984, most of that time being in the Southern League, this is a fairytale come true. Hopefully we'll take 10,000 fans up there, no doubt get stuffed 5 or 6-0, have a great weekend, and the club will be £1m better off for it.

Not looking like there's going to be a Brighton v Crawley draw though, I think our slim chance of reaching the q-f relied on us drawing Leyton Orient at home! Still, I think we'll settle for Old Trafford.
