How are you going to crush anyone in front of you with a barrier in the way?

Its so blindingly simple isn't it ?
I would give my right bollock for the Amex to have a couple of stands filled with those.

With those safe standing things, how do they deal with the issue of people wanting to sit in a particular area for a particular view who happen to be behind people who want to stand?

The usual initial reaction from those who like to stand is that the people who want to sit should move. But why? Why shouldn't the people who wish to stand move, why do those that want to stand get a right to stand where they want whereas people who wish to sit have to move away from where they want to sit?
With all the fuss about the +3 season tickets at falmer costing people their preferred seat before they get to attend their own presentation, would they have accepted "just move" as a good response?

simple really, its called good old fashioned choice, or as they call it in economics, meeting the needs and wants of the customer. You have, just as they did before, standing areas and then seated stands. Simples really, only thing is, a few bods might have to afdmit they are wrong, and no matter how much we show how wrong they are, they will turn their eyes from it. Human nature Im afraid

Really? Lets see if he says that next time they meet.

So where is the phone call you promised me when you phoned me at 02.30 in the morning, lets just say all the texts have been passed on to the people that need it. if you wish to knock me out & put my teeth all over the floor why have you not followed up your threat? I will be at B/Muff the next home game & Watford, also don't forget what you told me about a certain incident at Posh away. I will do what ever i can to get people like you banned from Falmer. Don't ever phone my number again at that time of day. Stay away from me or i will f***ing go to town on you, PS Mods ban me if you like but this bloke is out of order. Rant over.

at the end of the day it is never going to happen, and even if it did Community BHA would never implement it, specially now we have a brand new stadium built with seats

Why will it never happen? Replace the standard seats with the picture above and voila..!

Whilst I have sympathy for the Hillsborough movement, I am yet to see a decent argument against safe standing as seen all over Germany and beyond. Perhaps we are too sentimental when it comes to making a considered decision on the basis of what the punter would like.

The Kop spend 90 minutes standing. If anyone know it is 'dangerous', then it is those that were in Sheffield all those years ago.

Never is a vey long time. The catholic church at one point were "never" going to admit that the world was round. They got over it eventually.

But aren't those safe standing things in the picture both seats and standing area? That is, they can be used as a seat or as a standing area.

Meaning, for instance, if they put them in the north stand, perhaps people who want to sit might want to sit in the north stand, while someone who wants to stand might also want to go in the north stand. If you have the combo stand/sit thing, who gets the priority - the one who wants to sit in the north stand or the one who wants to stand in the north stand?

I think if you step back you will work out that its not that complicated and certainly not beyond the understanding of mice or men.

Its pretty simple to understand really, the tickets are sold on the basis that its a standing area, therefore people who want to sit won't buy a ticket there......simple! You don't make the whole stadium like this, just a couple of sections.

You took my post in the wrong context, I'm not stonewall against 'safe standing' as long as it is just that. I just don't think football will take that step, as they see it, 'backwards', and I think BHA would never bring it in.

These stupid private seat licences certainly wouldn't help the cause.

Great you are getting there.

Twat. Where have I said I don't agree with safe standing ??? This idiotic idea of yours that the customer is king and the customers wishes means the club should overlook the rules placed on them is just plain stupid. So other clubs decide to ignore them - big deal - it doesn't mean every club will take the same approach to the rules or indeed should.

Safe standing can of course be done but moaning to the club isn't going to change anything - try lobbying people such as MPs to get the rules changed.

FYI - the seats at Bradford weren't an issue even with clearing the stand. A large majority of people that died did so because they tried to get to the exits at the back of the stand rather than attempting to go forwards on to the pitch.
